1) Pretty informal rural court.
2) the other guy was invited in for the cake, but declined.
A few years ago I had a trial in this court. The jury went out at about 2 PM and they were still deliberating at dinner time.
So, I went to dinner with the judge (although so did the other attorney).
Anyway, all we did was eat a slice of cake together.
