On a different note - a dear friend back from a few years of UN peacekeeping in South Sudan came over with a bottle of 2014 Rift Valley Syrah from Ethiopia. Opened on Friday It was all paint thinner and set aside. Tonight it could easily pass for a good cote du rhone, typical dark fruit profile, some pepper and mocha, and some animale. Pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Better than a lot of Ontario syrah. Not sure I could seek it out if I wanted to, but fun to try. No idea on the qpr - the sticker reads '192.00' but I have no idea what country/currency it was bought in.
