On Friday night with Mimik
2016 Astrolabe, Sauvignon Blanc, Province
2005 Pecchenino, Barolo, San Guiseppe
2007 Isole e Olena, IGT, Cepparello
2010 Chateau Sociando-Mallet, Haut-Medoc
2016 La Stoppa, Malvasia, Dolce Frizzante
And last night
2016 Catherine & Pierre Breton, Chinon, Épaulé Jeté, Beaumont
The Cepparello was definitely the head of class of the above. Outstanding wine. I have another bottle which I may hold for a couple of years, but I doubt it will get any better than it already is.
The Beaumont Chinon was a very interesting wine. Initially light and fruity it went well with some roasted salmon, but later on it became dark, brooding and more complex. I'm going to pick up some more and let them sleep to see what happens to this.
