I have not seen it on DVD, but have of course seen several clips on YouTube which for the most part are uninspiring. A far cry from their days of aggressive playing and trying to outplay the others, all 3 of them were shadows of their former musician selves. To be fair, it would be difficult after not having played together for more than 35 years.

I had low expectations, but perhaps because my expectations were so low, I actually enjoyed it. Yeah, 45 years later they don't have the same ferocity, but I thought they still played very well. It's the best Clapton live performance I've heard in many years. And it was great to hear and see Jack Bruce's bass playing.

I have an old friend who was a huge Cream fan in high school. He was reluctant to watch the reunion concert for the same reasons you mentioned, but he came away impressed.

It's all relative, I suppose. It's not "Wheels of Fire", but it's also a whole lot better performance than most classic rock bands can muster at this late stage in their lives.
