I like Maya Kaimal simmer sauces from the supermarket. Brown and braise some lamb until tender, or roast some chicken, then separate the meat from the bones and put the meat in a pot or sauce pan with the sauce. Add the skimmed, strained liquid from the cooked meat, also add some rinsed dry lentils with an equal volume of water, and simmer until done. Add desired garnishes (cilantro, toasted pumpkin seeds) and serve with basmati rice. I will try other brands of simmer sauces, but Maya Kaimal is my go-to.
