Has any of the local crew actually tried this stuff? We've had some interesting Sherries at dinners, some that I've liked, others, well others enjoyed them more. It sounds pretty thick, but for $15 it may be worth a try. It gets good reviews in places. I quess if it didn't work on the ice cream, you could seal the cracks on your driveway with it...
It's technically not a Sherry - it's from Montilla-Moriles.
That said, it's something that you can drink by the thimbleful or two and not much more. It's pretty thick and cloying, and if you drink more than that your teeth will hurt. It needs a very sweet dessert like sticky toffee pudding with ice cream to cut the richness.
It's pretty much indestructable. I've had a bottle open for about six months in the fridge and it's still fine. I believe Rob brought one to vinoevelo's the one time that was still half full and open a year. Still fine.
Have fun trying to reopen the bottle though as the dried sugar is worse than super glue!
Thanks Fut, and for the clarification re: Montilla-Morillas, and the rest. I'm guessing get a bottle and save it for when there's a good enough group to share thimblefuls. The sticky toffee pudding & ice cream is a good suggestion.
