The past week:

2003 Jaboulet La Chapelle
Ripe black fruit, charred meat, olive, chocolate ganache. Dusty tannins on the back end. The fruit is roasted and the nose has some alcohol heat, but it’s still surprisingly lithe for the vintage. 

2015 Poggio Scalette Chianti Classico
Always reliable. Great pizza/pasta wine, but also totally quaffable on its own. The 2015 is a fantastic vintage.

2013 The Hilt Chardonnay The Vanguard
Lemon curd, tropical fruit, a small dollop of toasty oak, good acidity and nice viscosity. More old world than new.

2010 Edi Kante Vitovska Selezione
Digging this wine. Fresh Chablis-like minerality and salinity, with equal parts orchard fruit.
