2010 Domaine does Lambrays Les Loups MSD - drinking really well, and perfect pairing for a whole roast duck
1995 Zind-Humbrecht Rangen de Thann Clos Saint Urbain - post-meal surprise. Residual sugar a bit higher than I’d like, giving off a flavor reminiscent of creme brûlée that had been torched a couple seconds too long. Not unpleasant, but I wouldn’t wait much longer to consume if I had any in my cellar
1980 (bottle date) Sunny Brook Kentucky straight bourbon - from a 200ml. Nose was fascinating, with a plantain note most prominent. Vanilla, cherry and plantain on the palate were harmonious. Been really enjoying opening up a bunch of “dusties” I acquired this past month. The contrast between what bourbon was like decades ago to what’s being distilled now is interesting, to say the least
