Reply to "Bordeaux buying help"

I just know I'll get flamed for this, but...

I recently tried a 2001 Chateau Colombier-Monpelou. Yes, I know about the past performance issues of it being a mediocre wine at best. The '01 has good fruit, moderate tannins and moderate acid. IMHO, I think it is a good QPR at $19 per bottle. I have it as a daily drinker when I want a bordeau. I do have many 2000 bordeaux, but, as you know, most are not ready to drink and certainly aren't daily wines. Big Grin
