Beaujolais Nouveau appetizers--annual party

I have an annual get together with the general theme of Beaujolais Nouveau, but folks end up bringing other wines as well. Just something fun to get the holiday season off and running.

Last year I ended up grilling some sausages and everyone gobbled those up like they hadn't eaten in days. I think the meaty, salty, savory element really went with the wines well.

I have a small apartment, so it takes the form of a cocktail party. Any good ideas for substantial appetitzers? I've toyed with the idea of making up a batch of hearty soup or stew, but always flaked on it. Wink
