Wondering how long B&BH would take to surface.

Big Grin Allright, you're officially on my "he's okay" list. At least for the time being. Wink

Ozarks,

Excellent, you're a better woodsman than I (I said wood). If you can sniff out white oak amid the tan/black/red/live oaks, kudos to you. And, I thought all they had were walnut bowls in the Ozarks.

Do tan, black or live oaks smell anything like white oak when they are cut? I could not sniff out the difference between these others. I just know what it smells like to saw white oak (and I only know it's white oak because the lumber store says so). Then I recognize the same smell in wine and when helping cut a fallen tree.

The walnut bowl place is just down the road from the barrel making place. Quite a bit of local white oak goes to the cooper. To think, I could have peed on the tree that was used to make the barrel that aged your favorite wine.

Did this really turn into a Beavis and Butthead thread? That Sucks, u-huh.
