Great notes Pete! I usually find this character in Meursault and can often confuse it for corked until I taste it.
I also love your "fishy new oak" descriptor as well. I usually call it tuna and am not too fond of it in Chard but often find it in the "better" versions from CA. Just another reason why I just don't drink much of this varietal. Do you know which forest imparts this character in the wood?
