'96 signorello founder's reserve cabernet

i decanted this wine for about an hour while grilling filet mingnon & fresh picked homegrown tomatoes.

there was an excellent fruit & spice nose followed by a tightly structured, chewy & well balanced cabernet. there were flavors of currant, berries, cassis & plum. there was a hint of vanilla & some pepper. the tannins were more significant than the merlot i had the night before, but that was just what i was looking for this night. this was a big brawny cabernet worth 95 points in my estimation, with the ability to age for a number of years more; therefore, i will wait on my last bottle & it might even get better.
