I still have some 2001 & 2002 Caymus, but I've stopped buying the regular Cab and only buy the Special Selection, as I would rather have one bottle of the Special Selection instead of the two bottles of the Caymus Cabernet, especially at $70 plus tax.

funny... i am on the other side of the fence because i can source for low $50's while the SS is still $125+... basically i cant get 5 regulars or 2 SS's so i get the regular, and i like the wine as well... i still buy a bottle of SS here or there but not in the QTY that i used to

Yes, there is no right or wrong, you just buy what you like. The Caymus SS is expensive, but I can't get the Caymus Cabernet at that lower price, so I just buy fewer bottles.

BTW, after all of the price increases for the Bordeaux First Growths, that 1967 Latour you found was really a great bargain. As I remember, I paid $91 plus shipping, which is outstanding, as I have never seen one close to that price in the last 4 years. Thanks again! Also, that 1967 empty bottle is on display in my cellar.
