I opened this Austrian dessert wine last Friday for Otisabdul and Blue Oval. My wife made Bananas Foster. This wine recieved a 94 from WS and a 95 from WA. It retails for $48/375ml but I was able to find it for $37 at Sams warehouse sale earlier this year. Although Krachers are imprted into the US in small quantities, they are readily available in the Chicago area because the importer is Vin di Vino which is located in the city. Vin di Vino has basically cornered the importing market on every top Austrian producer.
Beautiful golden yellow color. A nose of apricot and pineapple. This botrytis affected wine was drinking very well now but will benefit from additional aging. As I said in another post, I think the Welschriesling based wines from Kracher can be drunk earlier than his Chardonnay wines. This wine was rich and intense with carmel notes infused with tropical fruit nuances. Complex with a long finish. A beauty. I agree with WS and WA. 94 points.

This was my WOTN. If I am not mistaken, the bananas foster was inhaled before this was uncorked. Lady Vino Me was not going to allow her dessert to be delayed since time was of the essence.
Agree with VM's notes. Nice texture with a well-balanced sweetness that made a believer out of me - I will be looking to purchase some Krachers at the next available "sale" opportunity. I would give this a 94. Thanks for sharing.

No notes, just a big WOW! My first sip of a Kracher lived up to the hype - big time.
After the Bananas Foster, sitting outside on the patio, smelling the wood-burning fire, good tunes, good company, sipping this gorgeous wine....waiting for my turn to fire the potato gun. Priceless!
I'd rate it 95 pts. #2 WOTN, next to the Ch. Vinome barrel sample.
Thanks again VM!

BO- There is no holding back the Lady Vino Me when what she is cooking is ready. It must be served when it is ready. I knew I would not be able to chill the Kracher soon enough so I waited. I'm glad I did because it would have been a shame to serve this wine at the wrong temperature (I'm sure you understand). I liked this wine much better than the #9 we had earlier this year. Do you agree?
Otis- Thanks for the kind words Otis. Glad you had a good time. We had fun also.
