Been a Wings fan for 18 years now...Go to see them everytime they're in town. Last Tuesday game was a pretty good one Razz
We got Big Bert so I'm pretty happy cause we needed a big man. Hope his back will get better soon. Calder will be a good fit too.

Not any tougher than being a Bruins fan in Montreal or Red Wings in Chicago... it's too bad those rivalries aren't as heated as they once were.

It's no big deal being a Bruins fan here. When I followed the sport more, I used to go to games at the Forum wearing my "Real Men Wear Black" T-shirt and cheered vocally for the Bruins. Never had any problems. Habs fans are a bunch of panty-waists. Razz

Watching the Wild smack around the Greasers last night (if you play like pansies, you have to be downgraded from oil to grease) we had this conversation:

Stef :"What the hell are the announcers blathering on about?"

Me "Ryan Smyth got traded."

Stef "Geez, you'd think the Queen died."

No wonder the Pronger's wanted the hell out of that nut hole of a town Big Grin

I wish I knew, I only hope that Guerin and Rivet can snap them outta this funk. They're still a good team, and will be dangerous in the playoffs, but they should be a lot better right now. Oh, and Nabakov has been ok these last couple of seasons, Toskala has been better.

I went to a game in Montreal back in '79 or '80 with my brother. I was amazed at the lack of enthusiasm in the crowd. I was used to seeing Blackhawk games at the old Chicago Stadium, where the place would be literally rocking from start to finish. In Montreal, even after the Habs scored a goal, I felt like I was at a golf course watching a tournament or at the library. It was like they were sitting on their hands. It was cool to see a game at the Forum, but it was strange.

The Canucks get d-man Sopel back from the Kings and acquire forward/center Bryan Smolinski from the Hawks.
The 'Nucks had to get another defenseman...they really only had 4 bonafide blueliners.

Regardless...in the end, the Canucks will go only as far as Luongo can pack them on his back.

*Predictions:
Buffalo or New Jersey out of the East (dark horse- Pittsburg).
Anaheim or Detroit out of the West (dark horse- Dallas)

*Of course...injuries and goaltending not withstanding.

Canadian weather?
Nine months of hockey and three months of bad ice.

Funny cause exactly the opposite happened to me! I went with my wife to spend the we Montreal about 3 weeks ago and we went to see the game against Ottawa. Man it was crazy!! I felt like being at a soccer game back home.
Compared to the games here who half the people are not in their seats cause they're drinking beers at the concession it was a nice and refreshing experience.

the sharks have really drafted pretty well with regards to goaltending and defense. i hope dean lombardi does the same to the kings.

i hope the sharks snap out of it...you guys owned the ducks last year and it looks like the sharks and ducks will possibly get a chance to face each other in the playoffs.

I am thinking that the Sharks will snap out of it starting tonight against the Ducks.

Cue Jaws theme....
