We will be there after Christmas 2007. Any ideas on historic district hotels and dining. Bistro type is our favorite. Thanks.

we spent our 10th anniversary in Savannah over Labor Day weekend...

we stayed at the Green Palm Inn. Fantastic. highly recommend. Beautiful rooms, gracious host, not too expensive. Great breakfast, too.

dinners... we ate at Local 1110 - not to be missed. Great food. We also had very entertaining exchanges with those around us.
Also, Alligator Soul was very good and down to earth (which does NOT mean that it wasn't expensive!). Local 1110 had $25 corkage, although that was waived for us (we shared some Kosta Browne with our waiter) and Alligator Soul had $10 or $15 corkage.

Evelyn's on 37th is great, but our favorite (far from a bistro) is The Crab Shack on Chimney Creek, just of the mail road on the way to Tybee Island. Best low country crab boil we've ever had.

Just one more sip.

It's been years since I was there, but Mrs. Wilkes was always good.

Yeah, Mrs. Wilkes' was good for a southern lunch. It's quite an experience, but once in a lifetime is enough.

Just one more sip.
