This, to me, is one of things that makes U2 one of the greatest bands of all-time; yes, even better than many of the greats from the 60s and 70s. That is to say, they still write relevant music after 30 years, unlike bands like Rolling Stones, that haven't written a relevant song in 25+ years, imo, and are nothing more than traveling nostalgia.

It's personal preference, of course, but I wasn't crazy about the set list. Of course they played a lot of the new songs (and while I'm not a huge fan of the new album many of these songs translate better live than they do on the album), and they also selected some older songs that just don't do it for me (Walk On, In A Little While to name two). And they seemed a little bored when playing some of the classics (seemed like they were going through the motions on Sunday Bloody Sunday and The Unforgettable Fire). I also thought the show was a little over-produced - with all of the technology they use I suspect that everything has to fit into it's proper "time slot", so there isn't a whole of improvisation going on which is a shame because I've always felt that that was a strength of theirs. And they could have opened with a more dramatic song than Breathe and finished with something more exciting than Moment of Surrender, but it's there band and they can do what they want with it!

This is a very valid point. The amount of energy can vary from night to night, and I would become tired of playing the same songs as well. However, I am looking forward to hearing the new songs live.

Thanks again.

Enjoy!!
