I just bought my tickets for the Las Vegas show on October 23rd; great seats, but certainly not cheap. Eek

Is anyone else going to to see this show in the fall? It should be epic. They haven't played stadiums since the POPMART Tour in 1997.

Thinking about it, if they come to Chicago, which I would assume they are. I last saw them play at Camp Randall in Madison, WI. (capacity 78,000) back in 1993.

Actually, they open the Fall Tour in Chicago, Soldier Field, Spetember 12th and 13th. Both shows are sold out.

I’m not a fan, but I read an article about the tour and it does sound pretty cool. I’m sure you will have a blast gig, congrats on getting tickets.

I am a big fan - obviously - and I have seen every one of their tours since The Joshua Tree. Smile

I plan to see them in Houston in October. I saw them two years ago in Charlotte and they were great!

Got my tickets for Phoenix (Glendale) in October. Great seats, hope they're worth the price!

Trust me, they will be worth every penny. Wink

I might purchase tickets to the Glendale show as well. If I do, we will have to make it into a mini-offline. Cool

Without a doubt. I wonder how hard it would be to pull off an Irish wine-themed offline? Cool

I love Irish wine. My favorites are Guiness and Beamish. Wink

Good to know that they are coming to Houston. Let's see if I can still score some good seats at a decent price.

Last time I saw U2 on concert was during their PopMart Tour back on 1997 (i.e. here in Houston).

The single greatest concert of my life was in summer 1987. Joshua Tree at Wembley Stadium. Ranked as one of the top concerts of the 20th century. This was about 85000 people enjoying music at the highest level.

Interesting! I do not think I could put any concert with 8500 in my Top 10, much less 85,000. Eek Wink

If you still list it that high after 22 years, it must have been pretty special.

IW-

That must have been a very memorable concert, full of immeasurable energy. Smile

I was fortunate enough to see them on the opening night of that tour in Tempe (April 1987) and twice in Denver at McNichols Arena (November 1987). Much of the footage for Rattle & Hum was shot at the Sunday night concert in Denver.

If you have tickets for the North American tour, you might want to go to the band's website to check out the European tour - if you haven't already. It sounds like the shows have been special/stellar/amazing. I am looking forward to October 23rd in Vegas with great anticipation. Cool

I wish Snow Patrol was opening, rather than the Black Eyed Peas.

I first saw U2 when they toured the "WAR" album. Saw them at the Bronco Bowl in Oak Cliff.
This was by far the my favorite rock concert ever!!
I think they come to the Cowboys Stadium Oct 13, bad timing for me.

Are any Chicago forumites going to the opening North America shows this weekend? If so, please provide feedback.

I'm heading to the show on Saturday night, which will be my first time seeing U2. I'm not a huge diehard fan, but have been wanting to see them for quite a few years now. I will share my thoughts next week.
