I played percussion and a trap set in the high school jazz band and sang in choirs both in church and in school. Still play around on the old maple drum set that is now about 30 years old. My back can't take it for too long any more.

Piano. I prefer playing Chopin, Mendelssohn and Beethoven. I regret that I am only a really good sight-reader and can not play by ear.

You are being too modest, Board-O. You left out the part about the washboard being what the ladies call your abs....

Cowbell.

Just kidding, I played clarinet from fifth through High School, then played trumpet and the saxes in my college big bands. I get out the clarinet and alto sax a few times a year to run through scales, drive the cat crazy, etc. . .

Don't play any of the stringed instruments, but have been crazed lately playing Guitar Hero II (does that count?)

Mainly guitar and singing. That's my favorite. I also do trumpet, trombone and piano.

I find a bottle of wine really stimulates my creative juices. Or maybe wine is my creative juice. Eek

Been playing piano for 23 years, guitar for 16. I play lead guitar for a hard rock band in Denver called Lords of Fuzz and I also sing for a celtic hard rock band named The Mighty Pikeys. Both can be found on MySpace.com if interested.

I play piano, badly, and a bit of harmonica, worse. I intend to buy a bass so that I can be four out of a really terrible six-piece blues band (my singing voice is rubbish too).

Guitar for 17 years now and singing for longer. Sang in my University Choir, did classical singing, but more into jazz, rock and blues. For some reason I played the recorder for 8 years as a kid. Never quite figured out why. Also played the piano, but with my brother being a far superior player I lost interest fairly quickly.

I loved every minute of my kids' recorder concerts! That's a sweet memory.

I played in band and jazz band in high school. I played the baritone. I was also in choir and jazz choir as well. My high school has been state champs for the last decade.

I still play the guitar.

Having traveled a bit internationally as a lad, I was amazed that the recorder was ubiquitous throughout many lands and cultures. It is often introduced in schools at an early age as a way of involving kids in music. A couple reasons why: It's cheap. It's relatively easy to operate. No embrouchure to worry about. No great physical talent needed to make noise with it. It's also a great way to decide if a child has any musical aptitude. If you can't play a tune on a recorder, you probably need to go to art class, or wood shop or something.

Me, keys, guitar (self taught, I suck,) clarinet as a lad and yes, the recorder. Still have one and rarely play it. I do have a Balinese bamboo flute that I pull out from time to time. I can make some pretty good "Kung Fu" Grasshopper noises with it when sufficiently lubricated.... Razz

Count me as another one who was forced to play recorder as a kid.

Before I found out there was such thing as a Mellotron, I thought "Stairway to Heaven" used an actual recorder choir on the track.

The recorder days are long gone, but I still sing, play keys, program rhythm tracks, & play rudimentary guitar & bass. In the late '90s I also played drums for a surf-guitar instrumental combo called "The Shred Bettys".

A recorder, bongos, and a harp? That's one scary band! I shudder to think what that would sound like. Eek

I'll do it only if we could play only Zeppelin covers...
