The latest issue of Wine Spectator.

I do subscribe online, but got bored on the plane. OMFG, half the magazine is about Julia Child. The cover story on 07 California Pinot didn't take half as much space.

Well it is the annual food issue and I would argue that they could have devoted the entire issue to Julia.

"The Post-American World" by Fareed Zakaria. I enjoy Fareed's commentary but this seemed a bit repetitive.

Unfinished Red Face

What I've read so far has been somewhat enlightening. But then again, an engineering background develops a love for the logical.

Not sure if this book is for everyone, but I've thus far found it very informative and therefore quite enjoyable.

I have this sitting on the bookshelf waiting to be read. I just have to finish another book that I was reading prior to its arrival. I can't wait to get into it, as I've read about 3 or 4 Michael Connelly books in a row and am growing tired of them.

"South of Broad" by Pat Conroy. Love this author, and it's been a while since his last book. After I finish this have already bought:
"The Lost Symbol."

I just finished this over the weekend. Are you far enough along to offer your impressions in comparison to the other two books in this "series"?

My impression after finishing it was that it was a repeat of the same story told in DaVinci Code, which was a repeat of the same story told in Angels & Demons. Only the ending was even worse and more fantasy than those two.

Apparently Dan has found a formula that worked for him and he is not willing to step outside that formula. Unless it was demanded by his publisher.

Extremely disappointing, and I had read his prior four books long before they became cult favorites.

My impression mirrors yours Mr. Moo. A tired storyline and my least favorite of the bunch.
