No Shortcuts to the Top by: Ed Viesturs

Great book on his mountaineering expeditions.

Travel book on Italy, planning for our trip in October!

I intend to die in a tavern: let the wine be placed near my dying mouth, so that when the choirs of angels come, they may say, “God be merciful to this drinker!”

Its not quite a page turner, but has an interesting premise. My major complaint is that i feel like I picked up book two of a trilogy and missed the book that explained the world and most of the major characters. I'm about half way through and it is getting better, but the first 30 pages were tough. I'll let you know when I am finished and whether it is worth reading.

W+A - what are you reading at the moment? I'm always on the look out for a good book. I probably ready one or two a week most of the year.

I just finished Grisham's most recent, The Associate. I enjoyed it, but checked out the ratings on Amazon afterwards and saw that most people didn't agree with me.

I'm now onto Extreme Measures by Vince Flynn - I have read a handful of his & Brad Thor's books and don't think I can take another one after this. I have grown tired of them.

I never did respond back - the book was good for a long plane ride - but not something that I would have finished if interupted during the first 100 pages or so. Not on a recommended list, but if you can get through the first 100-200 pages, it becomes more interesting.

Currently reading Orcs: Bad Blood by Stan Nicholls - not bad - its a sequal to an earlier book titled Orcs.

On the flight today (yes, I read the whole book today)...

Glenn Beck's Common Sense. The Case Against an Out-of-Control Government, Inspired by Thomas Paine.

I really appreciate Mr. Beck encouraging Americans to take back control of their government which I can personally identify with but his over the top ranting became distracting during the read.

Just finished "Innocent Man" by Grisham. True story about an innocent man convicted of murder and sentenced to die.
Capital punishment is a government program that is quite expensive (more so than life in prison) and sometimes the wrong people are convicted.
