Hey, does anyone know a good place to eat near Pearson? It's ok if it's a chain...

Cheers.

Depending on close I can recommend a few nice places.

First and foremost would be Via Allegro, located off Highway 27 at Sherway Gardens (about a ten minute drive from the airport). They have been a WS Award of Excellence winner for several years and their wine list is the size of a NYC telephone book.

Next would be a place off of Derry Road (north of the airport) called Topiary. The wine list is decent and the food excellent at reasonable prices.

Lastly check out the restaurant in the Bristol Hotel (I believe its located on Dixon Road). I can't remember the name of the restaurant but the food was great and they had a decent wine list too.

Arizona's. Food is decent, but the scenery is excellent.

Indeed, all the young ladies from the establishment next door (called the Landing Strip) go there when their shifts end. Not a place to drink wine though.

I second Via Allegro although I wouldn't put it near Pearson. As well, if you like Japanese cuisine, Sushi Kaji at 860 The Queensway is excellent and about similar distance from Pearson as Via Allegro. It's about 20 min drive from Pearson, head south down Hwy 427, east on the Gardiner Expressway, exit Islington, go north and turn right onto The Queensway and look for #860 to your left.

Some of the Kegs allow BYO and there's a nice one on Dixon Road near the airport.
