I'll be out there this weekend, and am looking for something downtown if possible (we're staying in the Gaslamp Dist). Also, any good shops in Poway, or the beach areas (Pacific/LaJolla)?

The Wine Bank is a good shop in the Gaslamp and Third Corner in Pacific Beach has a good selection and decent prices, plus it doubles as a bistro.

I should have guessed that you lived in Indy. I'm a Hoosier born and raised. I was just back there last week, sadly at my age I seem to go back most often for funerals these days. Anyway, cheers.

The drive out to 3rd corner is worth it - eat there too though instead of just shopping (the wine is arranged around the tables); friendly service, decent food, and corkage is $5 if you buy the wine there.

So bob, are you going to Gigondass' place for dinner?
