What's your handicap, what clubs do you play and why and what ball do you play and why?
I'm an 11 handicap and play an ancient set of Mizuno irons I've had for a very long, long time. My wife got them for me on a long past anniversary. They're not blades but a very shallow cavity back, so there is some playability and shaping of shots possible. I play many different golf balls, and am looking for one I love constantly, as I have a very slow swing speed. ********************************************** "Asking government to fix this crisis is like asking the arsonist to put out the fire." -Thomas Sowell |

I use those balls that explode & smoke on contact. I don’t golf often enough to have an established handicap. When I do golf, I am usually so busy fooling around and causing mischief that neither myself nor my partners have very good games. When I do golf with an important customer, or someone that I do business with, I can be serious and golf in the low 80s on a par 72 course. At this point in my life golf is a mere dalliance that I will play more of when my body becomes too frail to regularly ski, play soccer, basketball, ride motocross, or bicycle. I’m not taking anything away from those that indulge in golf on a regular basis; it is just not an active enough game for me at this point in life.

im on an embarrassing, frustrating, "i hate this game streak"... my handicap was approaching 16 before Christmas and now stands slightly over 20
i began taking lessons from the pro @ my club and, while i hit my irons consistently higher with more reliable direction - i like that part - anything above a 3 iron is a banana slice... and all we changed is my grip... anyway, enough venting i play old school irons as well... Callaway Big Bertha 454 Driver, Callaway Big Bertha 3-wood, Adam's Hybrid 3&4 Irons, King Cobra II's, Cleveland CG10 Wedges, 50' & 56' & an Odyssey White Hot putter... play the Cobra's because they were lying around my parents house... actually, what prompted the lesson was getting fitted for new clubs for Christmas, and we're still working towards that... i'm pretty indifferent with balls, though usually between the Callaway xHot & Bridgestone e6 because they seem like the best QPR balls out there |

Damn! I got to a 17 when I played 5-6 times a month. Now if I can break 100 straight up, it's a good day. I use some old Ping Berillium Copper irons. Due to my work, I get free golf balls. I abuse ProV 1's when I'm out. PH |

I guess I should have qualified my statement a little better. The low 80s is the absolute best that I can do. The more likely performance when I am serious is the mid 80s to mid 90s. I have no consistency at all. As I already said, when I get a bit older I’ll take some lessons and become a little more serious. I just get bored too easily right now. __________________________ Alta is for skiers! |

18 handicap. I play with an old set of Hogan Edge irons, which are also supposed to be hybrid cavity backed, but are definitely forged. I'm not really good enough to be using them, but am too proud to go buy a set of old man's cast irons.

Dont have an offical handicap...I have played once since my son was born 4 years ago but look to pick it up again. When I was playing prior to that, shot in the mid 80's.
I play with a set of hand me down McGregor irons and hand me down Cobra woods..although I only use the 3 and the 5.. take accuracy over length. |

My handicap is every club in my bag.
When I was a member of a club I was carrying a 16. Now I only play half a dozen times a year so a good day is anything below a score of 100. I play knock off of the Big Bertha and Cobras. Any ball that isn't cut will do. Joe ----- Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. |

I've played the game since I was a teenager, so that is about 40 years. I played junior golf and had it down to 4, but I sport anything between 8 and 10 now. This is based on playing about 40 rounds a year.
I have mid 90's Hogan Irons, a Taylor Made Driver, Cleveland wedges and an Odessy putter. I play mostly with Noodles, but will play with about any ball. I am not good enough to get maximum performance from the better golf balls. |

Official 10 handicap. Probably playing a little higher since I haven't been playing much in the last 6 months. When the putting green gets added in the backyard, watch out.
Ping Zing 2 irons 3 through SW Ping zing Lob wedge Taylormade 580x driver Regular flex. Big bertha 3 wood Big bertha 7 wood Odyssey White Hot putter Titliest Pro-V1 balls Everytime I threaten to change my old irons, I start playing well again. I love the driver but need to get a new 3 wood. Toying with the idea of hybrid/rescue club, but I still can drill my 3 and 4 irons. Medium swing speed. I like the Pro v1 ball because it gives me a good combination of power off the tee and touch around the green. |

5 handicap, although 2 kids will cause me to be paying out a lot of $$$ this year, cause I won't be able to play to it.
Ping G5 driver (looking to get something new) Nike T60 3-wood (will never let this baby go) Titleist 975 5-wood (18.5 degree) (a keeper too!) Nike 21 degree hybird Nike blades - 4 - PW (rifle 6.0 flighted shafts)(classic look is great) Nike Wedges - 54 (56 bent) and 58 degree (60 bent) (rifle flighted shafts) Odyssey Two Ball putter (mid length head on 33' shaft) Nike One Black ball - swing speed not enough for Platinum |

I play to about a 10-12 now. I was a 2 in college. Now I can shoot 75 or 90 - it depends on who shows up. I play old DCI irons (cavity back and forgiving), but a relatively new Cleveland driver and ping putter. I generally play good balls such as Pro v1. I don’t play often (not since the twins in Nov) and don't lose many balls. I want to know how it will react.

cdr,
recently read something about a new ball from Nike called Juice 312 - designed for better distance from players with a slow swing speed - only about $20 per dozen so may be worth trying. as far as clubs, i switched to callaway fusions last year, both irons and driver, been pretty happy. by the way, i'm a 5 hdcp; used to be scratch but my new course sports a 153 slope and can cause scores to climb quickly. The best time to have white wine is when there is no red wine. |

I use the same clubs. They've got to be 15 years old. Every year I say I'm going to get a new set of clubs to catch up to the technology. Then I go out and shoot a 78 or 80 and think, I don't need any new clubs. Then I'll follow that up with a 90 and think, damn, I should get some new clubs. My woods are Callaway, and the putter is a Hogan. I love the Pro-V1 ball for its combination of touch and distance. One of my golfing buddies gives me grief about the Pro-V1 and the cost. After another drive out-of-bounds, he said, "I've never seen you hit the ball so far out-of bounds." Gotta love a golfing smartass. |

At my best I was a 6 handicap playing 3-4 times a week, but the last two years I haven't played much. My best score ever was a 71 on a par 70 course. Best 9-hole score 34 (par 36).
I use (all LH with stiff shafts): Taylormade 360 driver Taylormade Ti-bubble 2 3-wood Cobra II knockoff irons (3-PW, 50 degree LW) Tour Model IV's - SW and 60. Putter-???? it's about 15 years old. I also have a Ti-bubble 2 driver, Tour Model IV irons, Golfsmith Blade irons. I usually play the Pro-V1 because it's long and I get a nice draw with it. If I want a slight fade I can use the exact same swing and the Pinnacle Extreme-distance Titanium ball and it will fade. Makes those dog-leg left holes a little easier than trying to draw it across the corner. |

I play to a 14 handicap with Hogan irons. I need new grips on my irons, especially my putter. I had an accident with it, slipped out of my hands and struck a woman. If any of you are in Florida, drop me a line. We can set up some action at Bushwood CC.
Anyone seen Danny Noonan around? He was supposed to mow my lawn. |

I love that driver. I'm thinking of picking up one on eBay, preferably with an offset head. Joe ----- Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. |
