Congrats on your class today. One service has USC and Florida having 12 each of the top 100 - 24% of the top 100 going to two schools.
Granted, these ratings aren't totally reliable, but I do see a Florida-USC NC game in the near future. Maybe not this year (as we will be real young) but certainly the next two.
Anyway...why not find yet another reason to raise a good glass of wine..right?
chile - as a USC grad i would be very happy to see the trojans and gators lock horns in the NC game this year - would be a great game. Our D is supposed to be unreal this year - prob the best since Carroll took over.

Illinois was ranking 10th overall and best in the Big Ten (which is now 11) for this years signing. Here come the Fighting Illini. I'm sure Pete Carroll and Urban Meyer are shaking in their boots.

Young or not, the BCS bowl champ between USC and Florida could very well be next year. Assuming both coaches stay put, a title match between them seems inevitable sooner rather then later.
Of course, we can't count out Charlie and his No Shame squad. After all they are the "Gold Standard". Any bets on them extending their consecutive bowl loss record?

Ron Zook can recruit, no doubt about it
If you get a chance, take a look at our 2003 Recruiting class. Not to mention, in the early 90's, Zook was key to the recruitment of the players on the Defensive side of the ball, whereas Spurrier concentrated on Offense. Ya think big ole Charlie Weis wish he could land some defensive players?
Zook's problem though has been his coaching ability.
I didn't go all out last night...just opened up a 2004 Neal Zin
yeah, i've been thinking about this matchup for a while. two of the best coaches getting a month to prep for each other would be fantastic. i was giddy after seeing us get the #1,2 and 3 players. Fight ON!
22 of the 24 starters on the florida championship team were recruited by Zook. I'm an Iowa grad so I the recruiting services are wrong. I think the hawkeyes had a pretty dismal recruiting class.

What the hell, I'll even toast USC for getting Joe McKnight. Toasting Bammer, however, is another matter altogether.
Predictions for next year: Tigers (the real ones, not the Barners) vs. Gators in SEC championship, with the winner facing USC here in NOLA for the national title.

The 'ole ballcoach did a pretty good job. I never thought I'd ever be rooting for him to fail though.

Don't count on 'SC looking past you guys this year. I predict a good old-fashioned ass-whuppin' of the Bruins this year!

care to put your money where your mouth is big guy? since you guys are so good in football and we suck so badly, you won't need any points. how about a bottle of the '01 Casanova on this year's football game?

I'm with Wineaux on this one. I've been hoping to see an LSU-USC matchup since the 2003 season. I was disappointed to lose Joe McKnight to the Trojans, though.
And fair warning: I'll be moving this thread over to Travel and Entertainment fairly soon.

I did not know that the disease known as recruiting would reach a wine board. I am amused at the newbies who think that the world is ending when a recruit changes his mind. Unlike most years, I knew Urban would simply replace a big time player with another. Meyer is the most relentless and systematic recruiter that I have ever seen.
Congrats to Spurrier and the Gamecocks. SOS with good material will be scary for the rest of the SEC.
And yes, I also want UF to play the Trojans for it all.
