I'm going to be in South Beach Saturday night. Will be stag. I did a search of the forum and most of the discussion is a few years old. Any new recommendations? I'd prefer a place where I can get a bite to eat at the bar since it seems a little weird to me to get a table for 1. I'm flexible on cuisine and dont mind trying new things. Thanks.

I ate at Emeril's in South Beach this summer; saw several "single" diners enjoying a meal. Attentive service, nice ambiance, fairly good food, very nice by-the-glass wine selection if you don't want to try horking an entire bottle by yourself... Big Grin

There are a lot of places to try over on Lincoln etc. but I'm sure its hit-and-miss there.

Forgot to mention, I had a nice meal at Norman's Tavern (steak, seafood, etc), which is on A1A on north miami beach. Small bar, fairest prices...and plenty of beer.

I ate at Sushi Samba on Lincoln Ave a couple weeks ago with jorgerunfast and miamiwinenovice. It was excellent. The Fountain Blue hotel has a great steak house, Gotham, if you are a little farther north.

Are you looking for something upscale or more laidback and bar-like?

Au pied de cochon is nice, De Vito or Prime 112 also nice to hang out at the bar.

MiamiWineNovice,
Probably a little more laid back. Good food - good wine. Thanks.
