PURPLE and I will be in Italia in Ottobre. We'd like to attend a game while there. Based on our travel schedule and who is playing the Domenica we're there it looks like the 26-10-2008 game between Juventus and Torino is our best shot. Has anybody here bought tickets to an Italia game? I need a lead on which online ticket site to use. If I just Google it I get every Tom, Dick and Harry pushing tickets. I want something a bit more "official" if I can track it down.

TIA.

Uh, don't have one of those. We're staying at "smaller" places.

I'll send emails to my cousins in Torino and Venice and ask what is the best (safest) way to get tickets. Gimme a day or two. If you make any headway before I do, please post.

I don't know how those cheaters in Turin handle ticket sales, but AC Milan lists on their website all of their authorised resellers with their addresses, phone and fax numbers. Prehaps Juve does the same, but I would never submit my computer to the disgrace of having Juve's website on it's screen.

Well AC Milan was out of town that weekend for their match, so we didn't have to touch that dreadfull website, however Juve and Inter Milan have links of places to buy ticket and those links don't work!

That's not surprising, I can't see anything about them working properly. Big Grin

My mistake-The Inter sites links to a outlet that will not sell until 7 days before the game.
The Juve and Turino sites are clumsy to get around.

WIML, my cousins must be on their 'ferie d'Agosto' early this year. I asked my sister to email some of her friends too. Hopefully someone will reply soon. If they had a Skype phone, I'd call them Big Grin

Hey Joe,

My friend (who is also a Juventini) suggested that you may want to rethink attending the Derby della Mole. If you end up in the wrong section of the stadium you could find yourself in trouble.

Also, the Stadio Olympico is quite small, as renovations at the Delle Alpi won't be finished until next year.

Well, what are the good sections?
What if we just quietly sit on the Turino side?
Did you watch Juve at Man U yesterday?

When in Rome, do as the Romans. With no disprect to Futronic, I wouldn't miss an opportunity to see a Serie A football match in Italy. I was in Portugal and Spain for my honeymoon, and although we did a tonne of sightseeing, we did not see a soccer match or a bullfight. When we went back in '97, with some friends, we did both (Barcelona versus Valencia, I think). And although my wife didn't like the bullfighting, we really enjoyed the soccer game. After the match, 80,000 people spilled onto the streets of Barcelona. It was fun, safe and unreal.

I'm not sure which sections belong to who - that's the thing! You'd have to talk to someone who knows the stadium and where supports sit. It also depends on who is the home team.

Yes, I watched the Juve-Man U match yesterday. I thought the defence for Juve was quite strong. Del Piero was solid again, Poulson and Sissoko great. Iaquinta just doesn't have the touch yet. Trezeguet and Amauri didn't show much.

The game was pretty tight and hard fought for a friendly. Most of it was caught up in the midfield with few outstanding chances.

I thought Del Piero was good. What was up with Amauri?

Obviously, Manchester United is going to start the season with a dicey team.

WILM, my cousin (in Venice) finally got my email. He was away on holidays, as I suspected. He will look into the ticket situation and get back to me, and in turn, I will get back to you.

WIML, I'm sorry I wasn't able to help you out here. I was relying on someone else to give me some "expert" advice, but my cousin has been a hard man to capture. Hopefully you've been able to secure some good tickets to the game you want to see. Let us know how (if) it works out for you so we can learn from your experience. I may be in Italy myself next summer and I could use the same advice.

Mezzo,

Considering the Serie A season runs from the last weekend of August (or at least it did this year) to the middle-to-end of May, there won't be any games to watch if you're there in the summer. Previous years, the season didn't start until September, so you're out of luck unless you wanted to watch pre-season and/or Berlusconi/TIM Cup stuff, which the players aren't in form anyway.

Thanx Fut. When I wrote "summer", in my mind I was referring to going during "le ferie d'agosto".

We have both Sundays wide open while we're there so we'll just have our hotel check for us when we check in and hopefully go from there. Thanks for letting me know.
