I've just logged onto the boards here, looking for a lively wine discussion, and what do I see?
I see the fascinating topic of What are you drinking? Snooze fest. Who cares? Then there's the equally fascinating What are you buying? By far the most compelling is Is Robert Parker on Crack? thread but how in God's name has that bloated tho three pages? Three letters are all that's needed to address that topic. Now keep in mind that I'm the initiator of such thread gems as FRENCH WINE SUCKS! and the timeless classic Will someone please tell me why everyone makes such a big deal about 1000th posts? I mean, all this really proves is the posters have lots of time on their hands, right? Is that something to be proud of? Where is the fire? Where is the deep contemplation? All we have are lists of what we're drinking, what we're buying, and what we're listening to. This forum has become a trash bin of recycled topics and soap opera like girl fights fabricated from simple ego boosting efforts of wine narcisism and tired enophile alocholics.. Its seems that every time I log on here Its the same old antagonist and the same old moralist.. Wine is a social bonding agent not a pediatsal of mirrors...Why are we forced to accept some sort of pecking order based on someone elses posting quantity? It seems childish at best.. ..Sorry dont mean to rant ,but it grows ever old here with the same old answers...The same old users..and the simple lack of adversarial exchange....WOW I feel so much better now.. Dont get me wrong I love the site and forums ..I just wish there was a little more excitement here..I currently visit 3 other wine forums and this one seems to be either cut and dry or some sort-of
localized trailor park in-fighting.. ..Once and a while I will find an awesome topic and thats why I still post.. But it seems that most the new topics are simply boring? "A bottle of wine contains more advice then any self help book in the world" |

You should've been here when we had the "Madder Than Hell" forum. Things were always exciting there. Often times I'd blow my whole lunch hour there alternately getting steamed or LMAO.  *********** You never see crazy people walking the streets, screaming about atheism, do you? |

You are right. This place has gotten boring, and this thread is boring as well. I've had enough of this nonsense. If anyone here wants something a little more exciting, meet me here, and don't forget to push the start button on the video when you get there.
