I've never been a Bears fan...of course, I've never been a huge Colts fan either.

Vino Me...how about a little bet?
For the heck of it, I'll take the Colts.
A bottle of wine (worth $50US minimum).
Straight up...no odds.

What do ya say...?

Vino Me ,
The Bears have as much chance to win the Super Bowl as a cat has a chance of surviving in a Chinese rest.

They are the weakest 15 win team in the history of the NFL. I predict the Bears will be white washed!!! 37 - 10 Colts. Game over after the 3 rd quarter.

Put any kind of pressure on Grossman and he folds like a cheap tent. He makes Trent Dilfer look like Joe montana.

The Bears are a 7 point underdog. With the spread, I'd bet on the Bears.

Just one more sip.

WW- I hope not.

Tyee- I will be betting a bottle of wine on the game but it will be with one of the Indy board members either here or on WD. I wouldn't get as much satisfaction taking a bottle from you.

Vino Me,
I admit..I'm jealous...my team is playing golf and your team is in South Beach getting ready for the biggest game in the world.
Big edge for the Bears on special teams. The Pats had 300 total return yards. We all know what Vasher can do. Dungy better kick those punts out of bounds and squib kick any kick offs.

The air mileage between this years super bowl contenders (Indy and Chicago) is the smallest in the history of the S. Bowl. (about 175 miles)

Despite the close proximity between the 2 cities, there is very little rivalry between them. Indy is without a baseball or hockey team and the football clubs are in different conferences. The only sport we have in common is basketball with the Bulls and Pacers playing each other on a regular basis. St. Louis, Milwaukee/Green Bay and Detriot are the bigger rivalries despite the fact that St. Louis, Green Bay and Detroit are further.

True from the way I see it in Indy. Folks here generally make cracks about folks from Kentucky and Cincinnati, not Chicago (big city intimidation I think). The Kentucky Wildcats get much of the bashing here along with Ohio/Michgan States. No matter what you might hear, this is still a basketball state. And trust me, the locals would get even more fired up if the Pacers would win an NBA title, than a Colts win. It was NUTS around here when the Pacers got blown out by the Lakers a few years back.

When it comes to NFL, New England and Tennessee are the main rivals, with Pittsburg, Jacksonville, the Jets and Cincy thrown in (Chicago Bears aren't anywhere on the rival radar, historically).

Regarding pro basketball, Detroit is the main rival (thanks to the TruWarier) with Chicago and New York as lesser (mostly historical) foes.

With baseball, if you care at all, you root for the local Triple A team as well as the Cubs, Reds, Cards or White Sox.

It would be of course, but those two teams have never faced each other in a Superbowl. Otherwise, Raiders/Niners and Redskins/Ravens would be up there as well.

I might as well get my prediction on record here:

Since most are picking the colts:

Bears 24
Colts 21

I know that. I believe Wine+art was asking what the NEXT closest distance between Super Bowl rivals was AFTER Chicago/Indy. It's Giants/Bills. Next after that Jets/Colts (Jets played at Shea at the time, a bit further than Giants Stadium from Baltimore
