Talk about bringing down the profession. Ari, ever work with these guys?
Yup, spent days in their conference room - what a blow hard. A bizarre hodge podge of a firm - everyone knew something was bizarre there as there was no way they could possibly be generating the amount of $$ they were spending.
Can't get into specifics, but if you look at who their lobbying group was associated with, it tells you everything you need to know.
With that said, there are some very capable and honest attorneys that work there, and I feel bad for them and their staff. But it did not take Sherlock Holmes to figure this one out. I had no knowledge about this structured settlement business

When I interviewed with them a few years ago it seemed like something was .... "off". I know what you're talking about with respect to who they were working with - just a fishy situation that finally blew up.
I do feel bad his partners who were in the dark - I'm sure they're losing clients from this. With respect to the younger associates, it's going to be hard for many of them to find work with that connection and the current legal market.
How many yeras will he get? Looks like a bunch of NYC, Aspen, And RI prperty might be for sale, aka Madoff!
And FTL most likely. They'll homestead the house but how long will they be able to maintain it? That is, unless he has gold buried in the Everglades (which he probably does).
Wow...Structured Settlement fraud. Quite a creative way to run a ponzi like scheme. Requires him to continue to bring in more clients...hoping he's dead when they find out. Like most...they can't keep it up or in this case, it looks like the lifestyle outdid what the fraud could produce. Feel sorry for the firm if it collapes. Might be the first time I feel sorry for lawyers. Jc being the exclusion from the bad lawyer crowd of course.
