Mrs. Gigabit gave birth to our second child yesterday at 10:33 AM (MST).

I am the proud father of two beautiful boys.

It is a reminder of the greatest paradox in life: the loss of those that we love vs. the miracle of a new life entering this world.

Please forgive my emotional state, but...tell someone close to you that you love them.

I shall toast this very special occasion repeatedly over the next few days with friends and family; cigars, shots, and yes, of course, champagne.

Cheers, my fellow forumites!

Congrats to you and the Mrs!

Now, which wines will you be purchasing to commemorate this moment?

Congratulations!

As the father of two boys (who are 3 years apart), I can tell you that you are in for an exciting, adventure-filled ride.

Congrats!

And Rothko is right...my brother and I are three years apart, and we gave our parents an exciting, adventure-filled ride.

Don't pick on the young one...

As a father of five, I congratulate you on the newest addition to your family. Like Rothko, I can absolutely guarantee that life will be exciting and unpredictable.

Congrats! Just had our first in May and despite the fact that it both ruined my golf game and cut down my wine consumption there's nothing like it in the world. I Hope everyone is happy and healthy.

Thanks to all of you for your kind words, and for all that you have taught this passionate, yet very nascent, oenophile about the joys of wine.

Board-O: My first son was born in 2005; not much difficulty finding great wines from that vintage. I hope that 2008 provides some equally great wines.

W+A: I have very little experience with champagne; however, for a start to the weekend (on Thursday) I popped a bottle of NV Duval-Leroy Brut - Paris Label tonight. Did I do OK? (It was delicious! Cool)

This Champagne thing could become very addicting. Wink

You did OK. Be careful there though hoss, in the long run buying crack might be cheaper than stocking Champagne. Big Grin

No. It's more a local distribution product kind of like produce.
