Well done.

I was wondering what the hell he was doing at first! Really heads-up play.

syd: Another good call. Ok, Damon was 3/5, but still a good call.
One last chance. Or maybe not.
If you get this right, I may need to get you a subscription to "Crystal Ball Quarterly."

Lidge forgot he had a slider when he pitched to A-Rod and Ryan Howard has forgotten how to hit. Mad Perhaps Lee can extend the Series one more game.

Obviously, the Great Spirits were telling me about Damon, but I was misinterpreting their message. Big Grin

Let me consult with them....

If you are too afraid to throw your best pitch because it will get away from the catcher and the winning run will score, and so you throw only fastballs, then you have a problem.

No arguement there Syd, either get another pitch or get another catcher

Likely to be a pitcher's duel tonight.

From an outsider's perspective, a Phillies win set up a bunch of interesting stuff.

1) Pettite on 3-days rest (a rarity for him) vs. Pedro on 5 days.

2) Prospect of a game 7 with CC (again on short rest) laboring against a pieced together game from Hamels (?), Happ, Lee (for 2 innings), Blanton.

3) A series lasting more than 5 game in recent memory.

I had no idea what Damon was doing when he first took off for third. I hadn't noticed the shift.

Just one more sip.

Board-O:
You hadn't noticed the shift? That's ok, you weren't playing. Unfortunately for them, the Phillies didn't notice either.

First time in World Series history for two bases to be stolen on one pitch by the same runner.

I don't remember it ever happening. By the way, Damon said that if it had been Rollins with the ball, he'd have stayed at 2nd because Rollins might have caught him.

Just one more sip.

The sprits have spoken. Roll Eyes

No return to NY.

Lee gets taken for 4 runs. Philly pen gets hit for another 2.

Although he walks 5, AJ hold them to three runs, and lasts into the 7th. Mo gives up a run but holds on.

6-5 Yankees.

Damon said that Rollins "might have" caught him? No "might of" about it. Dial Damon back 10 years and then it's a fair sprint.

Great play. Jeter got hurt at 3B on a similar play when the catcher covered.

I hope you're right, syd, but I don't expect a letdown from Lee. I'm afraid we won't be celebrating tonight.

Just one more sip.

Well, I was right about the walks, anyway. Killer. 6 runs on 4 hits.

Game is not over yet.

I'd like to see the Yankees get it over with tonight so they can't christen the new park with the celebration but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. The crowd and celebration will be rediculous when they finish it in New York.

I simply don't understand how Gardner can watch 3 fastballs when you are down 4 runs. Swing, Forest, swing.

The threat of the comeback visibly took some of the wind out of the Fillies sails, so it was worth something, even if it fell short.

It may also provide some incentive for the Phillies to never stop trying to score runs as the Yankees are always capable of having huge innings. On to game six. Go Phillies.

Chase Utley = "Mr. November".
Syd...you were pretty close actually---you predicted Yankees 6, Phillies 5. You had one of the scores right.
Board-O was right to say that he didn't think it'd get wrapped up in 5 games.--Plus, on Oct. 28, Board-O predicted "Yankees in 5 or 6" and that may prove true yet.
The visiting team has won 3 of 5 games so far.
