Yankees are in trouble. Lee was close to perfect and there's no indication of him slowing down. He'll likely be starting one more game, maybe two.
Just one more sip.

Board-O: The Phillies looked like the more comfortable, confident team from the start; much of it stemming from their pitcher. I still can't believe the way Lee fielded that pop-up.

I disagree. The series is not made of one game, and I have found very few people who thought the yankees would sweep anyway. They won one, but they need to win four.

That was sheer brilliance by Lee. Great start for the NL!

Yes, an amazing performance by Lee, in all facets of the game. Guy was unconscious up there. Hope this thing goes to seven, it could shape up to be an epic series.

I don't think anybody has said that the series is over, DoubleD. Just that some of us would like it to end quickly.

I agree too, but Lee is going to pitch again and I can't see him losing when he's locked in like this.
Just one more sip.

How many games can Rivera pitch 2 innings to close a game? The Yankees' bullpen seems to be made up of one person.
I would prefer to have the machine call balls and strikes than a human. Too often the replay of a pitch called a third strike has not been within the strike zone for both teams. A pitch out of the strike zone is a ball, not a pitch too close not to swing at. The difference between a 1-1 pitch and a 2-0 pitch is huge in this type of game.
Tired of every home plate umpire having a different strike zone when the definition of the strike zone is easily defined in the rule book. There is a standard and the standard should be applied to all batters and all pitchers. No one should "get" a call.
It is funny to hear the announcer try to explain how the ump's call and the computer call are different and yet both should be deemed accurate. Baseball needs to update itself if it continues to let television use advanced technology in its broadcast.
Hope this series is not defined by the inaccurate calls of the officiating crew. The first two games have had some terrible calls that thankfully have not had a decided affect on the outcome of the game. How long can that continue?

Did you see the ALCS and ALDS this year? Umpires have been awful. I only count one time where the umpires got together to make the right call versus the 6-7 where they completely blew the call (not counting balls and strikes).

It's not funny. It's Tim McCarver.

I certainly hope so.
On that note, when do Yankee fans start getting on A-Rod?
Game 3
Big game for Hamels. If Phils lose, does Lee come back on short rest?
Absolutely!
Yankees plan for game 5 (other than AJ on short rest)? Score in the top of the first and bring in Rivera for the 27-out save.
It wouldn't surprise me.
As for the umps, will anyone remember this thread when there is the annual "which sport has the worse officiating" thread? Consensus has been the NBA in previous years.
If a call, or two, determines the outcome of a game. YES!
