I respectfully disagree that the Pats bear much of a resemblance to the teams that earned those rings. But you're right that time will tell.

To make things interesting, I'll put a fine bottle of Temecula wine up against one of your Long Island beauties. Meaning, of course, that the loser has to drink one from their area. Big Grin

I would take that bet for a bottle. Say a $20 bottle of wine?

Sure. Why not? It's a bet.

I'd have to be able to see the future in order to make a bet where I'd have to drink Temecula wine......... Cool

Oh, please! New England advanced only because it was the less crappy team, not because it was the best. So unless Manning and company pull an equivalent sized choke job (which is certainly possible) as San Diego managed Frown, then Indy is going to blow them out.
New England is clearly a better team than the Bozo the Schottenheimer led Chargers......

Nothing makes me happier than when the Chargers lose. Especially when Charger Fan ran around for the last six months acting like they had already won........ Cool

San Diego was the most over rated team in the NFL this year.

Correction: San Diego was the most ill-prepared team in the NFL post-season (the logic the used for keeping Schottenheimer eludes me). They had to shoot themselves in the head no fewer than 10 times to let New England past them.

Unfortunately for me, the Patriots are looking alot better today...

Based on the first half, I may win that bet. Lucky for you I don't own any Long Island wine to give anyway.

I should have been more clear...the loser has to drink one from their own area. If the Colts win, you buy yourself a Long Island wine to drink yourself. Otherwise, I go shopping for a Temecula wine (gaack!) to drink.

Tie game - waddaya say?

At least it was a close game. The Superbowl might be a good game, but the teams in it are far from super.

Just one more sip.

This is the worst I've felt since 2003. However, the Colts deserved to win the game, and I hope it will be a great Superbowl. I'm just a bit frustrated as a Pats fan..... Smile. It's just a game.

Good thing a lot of you didn't bet money Roll Eyes... Way to get it wrong.
The Pats got what they deserved, they won way too many games by less than a touchdown, what goes around comes around Smile
I seriously thought it would be Saints - Colts for the SB so I guess I'm 1 for 2.
Anyway, watch out for the Cowboys next year Big Grin

"Nice call Kreskin" Smile

The Colts will beat the Bears easily in this Superbowl. Says here Colts 37 Bears 10

The Bears are THE most overated Super Bowl contestant since the 2000 Giants. (I say that even though I'm a Giant fan)

They should be happy with the NFC crown and call this game off...seriously.

I wouldn't call the Bears overrated. Yesterday on ESPN all analysts picked New Orleans to win. They have received a lot of criticism locally for the play of Rex Grossman. The team doesn't have a huge amount of players going to the Pro Bowl.

Een,
Its the sorry state of the NFC when a team of the Bears caliber makes it to the SuperBowl. They have no shot.. good night Irene.

I never said the NFC was any good. I've always preferred the AFC, going back to when I was a little girl who loved the Raiders and wanted to be a linebacker for them.

Honestly, I don't care which team wins. It would be fun to see the Bears win as I live here but I have a lot of respect for Tony Dungy and wouldn't be sad to see his team win. I think both teams have glaring weaknesses and it will be a case of whoever exploits those of the other team first and demoralizes them.
