I am going to Palm Desert at the end of the month and would like to take my wife to a nice dinner. Any cannot miss reccomendations would be appreciated. She really likes French food.

Thanks in advance!

Was there couple weeks ago.

Three best restaurants (by a long shot) were...
1) Cuistot (Palm Desert)
2) Johanes (Palm Springs)
3) Citron (Palm Springs)

in that order.

I don't know what your plans are while you're in that area, but Joshua Tree National Park is an absolutely spectacular day trip (or longer if you're a camper), if you haven't been before.

Granted, this is a steakhouse, but...

Had a not so good experience at LG's PRIME in Palm Desert a couple years back. Would NOT recommend it.....

to foil Dom n Vin's post, one of the best steaks i ever had, surprisingly, was at the Flemming's by The River in Rancho Mirage...

Sirocco, if you like Italian, at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa in Indian Wells, can't be beat for great food, service, and a romantic atmospere. It's a husband and wife team originally from Venice, Italy.

Le St. Germain, 74-985 Rte. 111, Indian Wells, for French food -- pricey but highly-rated in Zagat.

We had Le St.Germain cater a 40 people dinner party and they were superb. I've never been to the resturant. LG's downtown is okay but their wine selection was great. My next door neighbor sells fish to Cuisot and he has nothing but wonderful things to say about that resturant. How about going to Jensen's and picking up a bottle from their extensive wine selection, buying a great steak or wonderful fish, pick up some fresh veggies and grill or cook your favorite meal. Trader Joes is there now too.Oh just remembered you can't go wrong with Ruth Chris Steak house either.

Dont go to Magie Restaurant on Palm Canyon Dr. Worst service ever.

We were all raised being told that Jesus loved the little children. Yes, but he never had to dine with one.. he chose the lepers instead.

I was in Palm Springs this week for work and was looking for a place to take clients to dinner on Monday night. Unfortunately, both Cuistot and Johannes are closed on Mondays Frown Citron and Le St. Germain both looked a little too "romantic" for a business dinner, so we ended up going to Fleming's. Food was excellent, but it's a little noisy.

You must have been there on an off night. The night we went was filled with great drinks, great steaks, and great service. Just wish the "great" would have carried over to the casino afterward.
