Thanks for the link Cow.

Nicely played by Tracy. Praising Watson for his understanding the "magnitude" of the pennant chase. Roll Eyes

And Dodgers take the rubber match, 3-2. Rockies had two on with one out in the 9th and followed with two strikeouts. Oh well, four games back.

Feels like 07 all over again with the Rockies. Nice to see Helton healthy again though...never thought Hawpe would be this good. Lineup would truly be scary with Holliday still there.

Yankees looking lackluster these days. Girardi needs to light a little fire here, with lots of games left and a lead that can vanish fast. Maybe Gardner's return will stir the pot a bit.

Always a treat to see a position player pitching in relief. He actually did better than most of the guys the Sox rolled out tonight and has a better fast ball than Wakefield and Okajima.

Sacred Cow

Still, the Dodgers only have a 4 game lead! They've been playing rather poorly for the past 25 games, while the Rockies, Cardinals, and Phils are turning up the heat.....we'll see.

Yup. You going? I'm not, never been there for a game. Did hit Dodger stadium against the Rocks in April though.

Have my name registered now for playoff/WS tickets. Should prove to be the kiss of death I fear.

Both Chicago teams are falling apart. This was the Sox second walk off loss of this road trip.

Did the Cubs "fall apart", or did the Cardinals just play much better? Probably a combination of both! Plus, Smoltz was a great addtition.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers lost again! Frown

I see the Rockies lost last night too. Oh well. Tonight's Marquis matchup (no pun intended) is against Barry Zito? I like our chances. Razz

Angels traded for Kazmir last night...

Their starting pitching is looking really solid from 1 to 5 with this addition.

Should be a fun last month of the season...

Is Tampa's staff that deep that they can trade a guy who has been their ace for years in the middle of a playoff race? This deal makes me think that something must be wrong with him and they found a sucker to take him off their hands. If he's healthy though maybe, just maybe, this will finally be the year the Red Sox don't beat the Angel's around like a speed bag.

You can never have enough pitching this time of the year. My twins rotation is falling apart.

How does Paul Byrd get rolled out after a year off and beat Halliday? You just never know I guess but it is helping cement the wild card for Boston as Texas and Tampa got beat today. If the Sox can beat Tampa in Tampa while I'm up in Bar Harbor this week that should finish off the Rays and it might make a division race yet if the Yankee's ever lose a few. Should be an entertaining September this year.

Maybe the Wild Card will be entertaining, but there isn't a team in baseball that compares favorably against the Yankees. But that's true most years. Hey, they may not win it all. Anybody can win a short series.

Just got back from Napa so excuses my short absence but...

The Yankees do seem well balanced and are obviously very tough. You're right, though. Anything can happen in a short series. If Beckett gets back on track then I like Beckett, Lester, Buhcholz alot.
