Hey, if you're living in Brooklyn now, and California before, you've got to be a Dodger fan!

Replace the Dodgers with the Phillies and you have the probable matchup.

Walking the freakin' pitcher? Are you effing kidding me? Justin Miller's days as a Giant better be done. And Fred Lewis too, for that matter. And then the Rockies, after getting 12 walks during the game, get into it with the umpires after the game over balls and strikes?

At least the Rockies won, that is what really counts. The dramatic fashion was just icing on the cake. Along with the importance of the game, of course. Next in sight, the Dodgers. Of course, I do not expect the Rockies to win 20 of their last 21 games, but then again, I did not expect that two years ago either. Moo

Cow, Did you catch Torrealba and Miller barking at each other after the game? Or Spilborghs throwing (and really winging it) his helmet pretty darn close to where the Giants were coming off the field? It could make this weekend's series very interesting.

Welcome to Boston Billy Wagner. He should make a pretty good setup guy for Pap I'm going to guess. Now the Sox can have 2+ inning saves, between the two of them that leaves opponents just 7 innings to win the games before they're shut down for the night.
I guess between that and Santana going down for the season that about does it for the Mets this year, and for a while longer if Santana isn't the same after surgery.

The Dodgers have been playing about 500 ball during the last 25 games. They can't continue like that when they start the Rockies series tonight.... The Dodgers had a 9 game lead over the Rockies, and it is now down to three & a half games. The Rockies are turning up the heat at the right time.

My twins are starting to make a little run. Four games back now. Hope Santana is ok but the way he left the twins for $26 million a year for six years, the mets better hope it's not a serious injury.

Why in the hell is Fred Lewis starting? Why is Bobby Howry even allowed on the field? At least they won. I am thinking things are going to go down to the wire in the NL West.

6-1 Dodgers, and a 3 game lead over the Rockies! So, why don't I feel confident? Because I want that 9 game lead back!
Also, are the Cardinals peaking too soon, or will they go all the way?

That's funny ... or more like desperation. I would like to see Wagner come in the 7th with a one- or even a three- run lead. My prediction: 2 walks, 4 hits, and 4 runs given up.

I wouldn't call it desparation and he won't be left in for four batters no matter what happens. He'll probably end up as a lefty specialist and the Sox only had one lefty in the bullpen and that one isn't a guy that will ever overmatch anyone with his fastball. Okie relies on his great change-up and sometimes they might just need to overpower a guy and strike him out that way.
Besides that he can force Texiera to hit from the right side if it's close late in any of the three games they have left in that band box in the Bronx, taking away the short downwind porch in right from him as well as match up well with Damon, Matsui and other lefties or switch hitters if need be.
Anyways the Sox are en fuego right now, pounding down a pretty got White Sox team plus Ortiz is back. Third in homers since June 1st (21) with an opposite field monster shot and a walk off just last night. They're all hitting and even the gimpy old knuckler looked great last night. Dice is starting his minor league rehab starts and if this team can make it to the playoffs either with the wild card or a miracle comeback in the east they will be as good as anyone as long as Beckett and Lester do their usual thing.

A win over Dan Haren is always a good win. An 0-2, pinch-hit home run in the bottom of the eighth inning, how did Doug Davis shut the Giants down for so long, Justin Miller actually pitched a good inning, Brandon Medders a save?, without Sandoval and Sanchez, scary, scary win. But I will certainly take it.
