Haven't been shocked by a single name yet. Only 100 more "confidential" names to go. However, I take little joy in pointing at one team or another and saying, "they were juiced." My team (the Angels) had Troy Glaus (and unamed others) when they won in 2002. No team was pure.
The situation bring to mind the line from the Sting when Doyle Lonnegan says, "What was I supposed to do - call him for cheating better than me, in front of the others?"

No way! Big Power Outage used roids! And this year wasn't the first time for Manny! Knock me over with a feather.
Maybe being out of the closet so to speak was a relief to him. He crushed a 3 run bomb late in the game to put the Sox up after trailing most of the day. I can hope, he kind of stumbled along for most of July after a great June.
There's not a team out there that wasn't juice in that era. I actually can't believe there were only 104 names on the list. They should just release the whole thing for the good of the game so everyone can move on from it. People will forgive and forget once it's out there if everyone is up front about it. It was just the era. They've now ended up with a 6 year cloud over their head that keeps popping up and it won't stop any time soon.

So Big Papi is being put out to pasture ... or is it Lowell. In either case, I will still be drinking Icewino's Caymus.

Well at least you admit it will be my Caymus. I knew you'd come around but if you drink it make sure you send me a second one for my own enjoyment.
Martinez is the bat they needed! A very nice pick up for not too much in return. A guy who can give Varitek and Lowell a rest when they need it without killing the lineup. I'd think they will want him to play more than a few times a week though. Should be interesting how they work him in without pissing off Youk, Ortiz, Lowell and Varitek. I guess if he filled in for one of them a week that's four games a week at least for him but that's a lot of ego's to juggle for a manager. Now if either Wakefield or Dice K can get healthy they can move Smoltz to the pen to replace masterson and away we go.

I have said it before and I will say it again. Jose Canseco wasn't too far off when he said 80% of MLB players were using during that time.

The White Sox, Red Sox, and Phillies certainly look to have helped themselves. The Cardinals probably as well. We shall see if the Giants deals help.

Giants win. Nothing to do with the trades they made but hey, its a win with Lincecum beating the Phillies 2-0 with both runs being scored on sacrifice flies. Gotta love it.
As far are the trades are concerned, like the regular season, they are best judged over the long-term. Just hoping the additions of Sanchez and Garko add some wins this year.

The list of who wasn't juicing would be easier to read. If there even are any names on it.
I don't blame any of these guys, from what it seems, you either juiced or got left behind while others got millions of dollars and a pat on the back. No wonder Barry got fed up and said he would show them what he could do on the juice, and did he ever.
Why aren't we going after Selig again? How in the hell is he not taking a fall for this? The man is like a cockroach.

I'm disappointed my twins didn't get any pitching help before the deadline. We might finish third in the division.

So for the Yanks' 3.5 game lead. Icewino will probably be posting tonight after his Sux reclaims first.

I'll just be happy that you and Boring O will disapear once the Yankee's are out of first if you follow your track records. Then if the Yankee's regain first O will come on and say I know that it doesn't matter at this point in the season but just wanted to point out, for no reason apparently as it's meaningless to him, that the Yankee's are in first place which will be correct for a week or so until their next big collapse.
I'll save my boasting for the next spanking the Red Sox will be laying on the spankee's later this week. Then I might be tempted to rub a little salt into the wound.

I have always liked Sanchez. Just worried about whether Alderson was too much to give up. It was a fun game to attend, and again, I feel pretty confident in saying that the Crazy Crab Sandwich is the best ballpark food offered in MLB.

Just looked up Alderson's stats while on the SJ Giants and this may help relieve your fears although some great pitching coach may be able to change his delivery to get more positive results. Alderson was 1-1 with a 4.15 ERA giving up 31 hits in 26 innings. He had 20 SO and only 3 BOB. Gave up 4 HRs. As a comparison, Bumgarner is 3-1 with a 1.48 ERA giving up 20 hits in 24 innings. He has 23 SO and only 4 BOB. Has not given up a homer. Remember Salamon Torres? For every Joe Nathan, there have been many more who no longer show up on the radar. To get something good, you often have to give up something good, at least in perception and that is what a highly acclaimed pitcher in Class A ball is. The good news is we have Sanchez and still have Bumgarner. At some point, we will have to pay our young pitching staff. Not too many staffs that are quality 3 deep. Go Giants.

Not just Salamon Torres, there's also Kurt Ainsworth, Jerome Williams, Jesse Foppert, etc. Prospects are prospects, not all of them can/will be Cain and Lincecum. I'm happy about the trade, like DVD, I've had my eye on Sanchez for a while now. I think if you can trade unknown goods in a prospect for a known good like Sanchez, for the most part you'll be alright.

You make good points, Juicy, and I don't disagree with you. Pitching is always more unpredictable than position players, with a much larger margin of error because of injuries. I just hope that the other Sanchez (Jonathan) pitches more like he has recently....

You're simply a fool. Which team is in first place doesn't matter, nor does who wins the World Series in any given year. Almost every team does it. The Yankees do it more than anyone else. The Red Sox have a century old record of failure. Enjoy your 15 minutes of fame. That pales in comparison to the Yankees' record of dominance. You really are a loud-mouthed fool who thinks a flash in the pan equates with a dynasty.
Just one more sip.
