I agree, the Champion's League will be more entertaining with Rossoneri.

Forza Juve

Speaking of AC Milan, I read a news report somewhere that Gattuso wants out - is that right? Hard to see him leaving.

I've been reading the same on the internet. Seems as thought the big clubs in England (Chelsea and Man u) want to sign him.

I agree it would be hard to see him in another shirt.

Hope he doesn't move to EPL, I can't stand him.

Hope he doesn't move to EPL, I love his game. Seriously, I doubt he is going anywhere. There has been this talk for a couple of years now. Yes his wife is a Scot, and he does want to go play in the UK again someday, but I just can't see Milan letting him go at this stage in his career.

What a wonderful day!!!! Milan wins the derby in style, Fiorentina goes down and only one team from Turin picks up any points (hint it wasn't evil Juve). Milan is now in fourth place and the CL with two to play. Roma is but 3 out of first, but very unlikely to overtake Inter. Super Pippo scored yet again, that makes 9 in his last 5 games, and 99 in his career at Milan. The best part was not only did they win, other than the last 15 minutes, they dominated. Milan finally at this late in the season are playing to their abilities.

What a crazy derby. Milan outplayed Inter, but if it wasn't for that huge save by Kalac on the second free kick, the teams would have split the spoils.

Juve losing doesn't matter. They're solid in 3rd, have their Champions League spot. All to play for with a couple games left as the Inter is only two clear of Roma. Would have liked to see Fiorentina put up more of a fight at Cagliari, however, as I would love to see Milan out of Champions next year.

Well this is interesting, Mathieu Flamini is to sign with Milan tomorrow. Story here. Does this mean Gattuso is on his way out? Mad Frown

Nice. I'm glad Flamini is signing with Milan. There were rumours of him going to Juve and I didn't want that at all.

If Gattuso goes though, that'll be a disappointment. He didn't have the best season in the world, but I still think he's a very valuable part of the team.

Flamini is very talented,he is a good catch.
Are the coaches settled in for the 2008-2009 season or do you think there will be different coaches at Milan and/ or Inter?

I concede that the better team won Sunday.

Well, well, well ... another interesting day in Serie A.

Inter blows it at home (including a missed Materazzi penalty), only managing a 2-2 draw to Siena. That combined with Roma's 2-1 win over Atalanta mean that Inter is 1 point ahead with one game to play.

Inter is away at relegation threatened Parma, and Roma is away at a Catania team that is two points to safety. Interesting thing is that a Parma win combined with Catania draw would result in two playoffs - one for the title between Inter-Roma, one for the last relegation spot between Parma-Catania. The latter would be a two leg playoff, and I'm pretty sure the former would be the same.

Juve snagged one back late with Del Piero leveling in the 89th against Catania. Del Piero, Trezeguet, and Boriello are tied tops of the Capocannoniere charts on 19 goals.

Milan, Milan, Milan ... I didn't watch the game but what a trainwreck of a loss. 3-1 away to Napoli! That combined with an Adrian Mutu-less Fiorentina winning 3-1 home to Parma means that Milan is two points out of a Champions League spot with one game left. Milan definitely has the more difficult fixture playing home to an Udinese side chasing Sampdoria for the last UEFA cup spot (two points back, Samp is home to Juve). Fiorentina is away to Torino, so while it's a tricky fixture, it's easier than the one Milan faces.

Lots to play for next weekend. Who knows, maybe there will be a couple extra weeks of football to watch!

Arghh. Mad What can I say, for the second time Milan has taken fourth only to give to right back again. Napoli has won 10 times at home this year, but they had nothing to play for and Milan everything. Also Gattuso picked up a yellow and is out next week, has he played his last game for the Rossoneri? Frown As for the UEFA cup, I believe since the Italian cup winner to be (Roma or Inter) is already in The Champions League both Sampdoria and Udinese are in. Hopefully joined by Fiorentina, although I am quickly losing hope.

Milan to sign Drogba? Mostly old news, although I did like this one quote. "All footballers dream of signing for Milan." said Drogba. Smile

Well AC Milan, it looks like the UEFA Cup for you. All the Juventini hope you win it and bring back to Italia

Juve on the other hand will be playing in the Champion's League next turn.

Forza Juve!

Does that mean you are taking Mourhino also?

Congrats to Inter for retaining their title.

At least Milan played a good game at home, too bad they couldn't do that for most of the season. I didn't see it but the reports said that Fiorentina's goal 15 minutes from the end which doomed Milan to the UEFA cup was on a bicycle kick. Damn it! It was great to see Cafu score in his last game in the Red and Black. Now after Wednesday's CL final I have to wait to June for Euro 2008. Go Italy. Big Grin

VT2IT - It was an overhead kick 13 minutes from time and pretty amazing.

By the way, what the deal with Kaka not being allowed tp play in the Olympics by
Rossoneri? I mean he is only the World Player of the Year.

I am glad to see Gattuso staying home for three more years though.

Forza Juve!

It was a fantastic goal. The cross came in from the right, Osvaldo had his back to the goal, headed it to himself, and put the bicycle kick in the back of the net from about 10 yards. I was in Myrtle Beach on the weekend and the highlight even made the ESPN SportsCentre #1 play in the top 10. How's that for impressive?

All Juve had to play for was the capocannoniere. Del Piero went ahead with his first goal, Trezeguet leveled at 20 when Del Piero let him take the penalty, then Del Piero took the boot with another penalty late in the game for his 21st. Definitely gives him a recall to the Nazionale for the Euro.

Milan needs to majorly retool for their UEFA run next year, but they should be strong favourites. That said, look what happened to Bayern Munich this year.

Finally, for Inter to win the title - they should have closed it out weeks ago but couldn't. Still plenty of speculation that Mourinho is going to Inter and not Milan, and further speculation that Mancini will go to Chelsea if they don't win the Champions League final (and maybe even if they do). Interesting stuff will be happening over the next couple weeks, that's for sure.

Great, just great, Milan got knocked out of the Champions League by the goal of the year. Mad They kind of got what they deserved though. As for retooling, Milan needs at least one good Dman and another striker. Oh and a goalie would be nice as both Dida and Kalac are looking to be on the way out.

Who do you have today, Man U or Chelsea? I dislike both teams, but now that Mourinho's gone I guess I will cheer for the Blues. It would be funny to see them win what he was brought in for after he quit.

I'm taking Man U even though I'm not a fan of Ronaldo. I'm heading to a "euro" friendly pub to watch it with a pair of Brits from the office.
