Agreed, VS... pretty crappy week if you're a PAC 10 fan.

Still, with the Ducks 3-0 at this time (though that could change soon... hopefully not until USC), I gotta call it the PAC 2. Smile

Cal did travel 3 time zones to play Maryland
and then had the game moved to an earlier 11 AM EST time slot. SUCKS. How many games on the college level are played at that time? Cal was down by 21 in the first quarter before they woke up and made a game of it toward the end.

Funny, I've lived near the MSU campus for the vast majority of my 41 years, and I was always led to believe we were in the Eastern time zone. Or maybe I've just been an hour early to everything all my life???

My point about the blocked punt was made because you said "Cal made the game closer than it should have been by their own errors." My point is that MSU also had a couple of errors, namely a missed FG and a missed blocking assignment on the punt play, and were it not for those two errors, MSU may very well be 3-0 right now.

Anyway, I won't take anything away from Cal. They are a good team, and they won the game after all. I'm not sure where they were the first 3 quarters against Maryland, though. Either way, I think that both Cal and MSU are cabable of beating some good teams this year, and I wish them luck.

Ohio State #13 AP
Ohio State #14 USA Today.

Pretty good guess on my part. AP carries more weight except when the USA Today has the Trojans ranked higher...... Cool

Having grown up in South Louisiana and being due south of Michigan, just assumed it was the same time zone, my bad. I agree that both teams are worthy of being good and making some headlines.

It's a good time to be a Big 12 fan. Especially if you are NOT a KU fan!

With all due respect, at the end of the season, a 1 loss SEC champ will be more deserving of #2 than an undefeated Oklahoma! There a High Schools in Florida that play a tougher schedule than the Sooners!!

As a Buckeye fan, can I just say that there is one upside to getting nationally humiliated early in the season: at least all the negative campaigning can be focused on somebody else for a while. I honestly think that the psychological bad mojo from which our team appears to have suffered (really since the NC game against FL) may have been due to the relentless, negative attention they've been receiving. Maybe now they can get their heads back on straight and right the ship. This team is way too talented and has worked too hard to perform the way they did the last two weeks. I just don't know how else to explain it.

Oklahoma, welcome to the negative spotlight. Pray that your conference continues to perform well; if not, things can get really ugly. Just ask any Buckeye fan. Frown

Have you seen them play? Oklahoma is a great team, strength of schedule aside.

My Hawkeyes are at Pittsburgh and are one point dogs. I'm hoping we can start 4-0. At least make a bowl game this year.

Tough day at Autzen Stadium today for the Ducks. #3 QB knocked out of game with a bad hit to the head. Had to pull redshirted freshman in.

Ducks got outcoached and outplayed by Boise State today. Hopefully they can get it back together.

No, Urban is when he kicks field goals in the final seconds and keeps Tebow in for every play when his team is up big. The most hated and classless coach in the SEC. And to be accurate Mickey's defense kept us in the game. It was the offense that stunk it up coached by a guy from LSU.

I don't know about that; the SEC is full of classless coaches:

Nick Saban
Steve Spurrier
Houston Nutt
Bobby Petrino

So many choices...

Can't argue with that one bit. Big Grin But the Gators think they are the best at everything. So I have to give them the title of biggest jerk for a coach. They're actually proud of it.

Oh I know the D kept them in the game...and its why Mickey's mug was on TV so much. I also have plenty of reason dating back plenty of years to think he coaches his players to play dirty.

You're statement about Meyer is quite laughable. Anyway, we are using a 1st year kicker (1st year playing anway as he's a 5th year senior). We only scored TD's against Hawaii and thus the opportunity to get the guy out there in a game situation at the end was important. So what if he kept Tebow in, they also didn't try very hard to score late in the game either.

OK, if one buys the logic that they kicked a FG to get the kicker game experience, then why the hell don't they try to give their backup QB's some game experience. Someone is talking out of two sides of their mouth.
