Less than 2 months before we kick off the new season, and I can not wait!
College ball is without question the best regular/week to week season to me. Unfortunately, it is the worse post season. BOOMER SOONERS. |

SEC football is my favorite sport to watch. Don't get me wrong - I'll watch almost any college football game, but there is something special about the SEC. I love the rivalries and the football is always spectacular.
UT vs. Florida will be an early game (and has been a consistent predictor of UTs season). I will hopefully pair this game with fresh smoked pork products (ribs, butts, brats, etc) and a nice crisp pale ale from a mid 2008 or later vintage. Any other SEC fans out there? |

Why of course!! Can't wait till the season starts. We can hopefully get the Miami monkey off our back in game 2 of the season. Our season will definitely be determined by how well our "D" improves from last year. We should have about the best offense in the country; should be able to score pretty much at will. Problem is, our defense didn't hold our opponents so well last year. If it improves to heck...just a "good" defense, we could be in the mix. LSU on 10/11 in G'ville and UGA on 11/1 in Jax will be the real tests, but obviously its always tough to play in Knoxville against UT. |

No mention of FSU? I hope the team feels like you do. How quickly Gators forget they went from 1986 to 2002 without a victory in Tallahassee. FSU beat UF in their NC year of '96 in Tally, and in UF's '06 NC year, they won by one whole touchdown against the worst FSU team in 30 years. You guys got beat by Michigan, who lost to Appalachian State (beautiful campus BTW was just there) at home... because they overlooked their opponent. i only get scared when UT plays at home. Two constants about UT - they never cover the spread and they are shaky at home. I would feel better if we were playing in the swamp! either way - it should be a good game. Oh - I am also looking forward to new Spurrier quotes this year. Granted they were funnier/more irritating when he was at UF, but the man has a way with words... |

What is the over/under on wins for Notre Dame this year?
Last year was GREAT! |

Oh don't worry. I still cherish each and every win against FSU. I don't take them for granted....but objectively I cannot forecast the 2008 team to be at LSU & UGA's level...and thus still stick to those being our toughest games to get through. That doesn't mean those are the only 2 games we can lose. As the Michigan game showed...if our "D" can't stop the other teams offense, we are merely an avg team. I'm hopeful however that the D will get better. The talent is there and there a bit more experience than last year. Don't worry, I'll still be rooting for FSU's opponent each and every week |

No idea on how well they are supposed to be, but if they have 4 wins or less I'll be happy. Here's to MIZZOU getting a little redemption against your boy Bob's Sooners. Unfortunately we won't see you all until the Championship game this year. Good luck. MIZ...ZOU |

One of my partners at work is a HUGE Notre Dame fan. He went to undergrad there and also grew up 10 minutes outside of South Bend. He follows their football like it is a cultish religion. His prediction is 8 wins. Mine - 6. I think old Charlie is having a tougher time in college than he wants to admit. G |

I can't say as I have any love for ND, but I did go to South Bend for one game as a fan of the opposition, and I've honestly never been treated better at a stadium or campus than I was there. Everyone was exceedingly friendlly and hellpful, we watched the team parade from the chapel to the field, and the "locals" let us walk up to the front because we were new and hadn't seen it before. The concession folks, ticket takers, fans in the stands, everyone, in fact, were exceedingly polite. It was a real pleasure to go to a game there. |

You guys beat me to starting this thread. I also cannot wait until the season starts.
Thirsty, do not worry, I join Chilipepper as a Gator fan and huge SEC fan. Chili has outlined what UF needs to have a great year, which is play from the corners and defensive tackles. You can judge talent, but you cannot judge the chemistry of a team. Given the high level of competition that the SEC has now achieved (it is the best that it has ever been), one team cannot assume a win over another. It should be a great year. PS Since I have a son at Wake, I am a Deac fan in the ACC. |

I’m looking forward to the now annual <insert SEC Champ> drubbing of OSU in the National championship game.

I will sign up for that game right now! What is your team doing taking a QB from Texas? That is OU's job. |

Michigan's schedule is front-loaded (they play Utah, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, and Illinois early). That is not good for a team that will be trying to find itself.

My Iowa Hawkeyeys are picked 10th place out of 11 big ten teams. I don't know what Kirk Frerentz is doing down their now. We didn't make a bowl game last year after going 6 and 6 and losing to western michigan at home the last game of the year. Even the crappy bowl games will draw 30,000 Iowa fans to the motor city bowl.

I am surprised that Iowa is not a top team in the Big Ten. I thought that Frerentz was one of the best coaches in college football. I know that recruiting can be somewhat of a challenge for Iowa, but his teams are usually disciplined and prepared. Us Gators were the recipients of a major butt kicking in the 2004 Outback Bowl by Iowa and their 30,000 fans. |
