Out of curiosity, are their any Miami Dolphins fans out there other than me, MiamiAtty, and fcs? It appears it will be another looooong season. Boo.

There are probably other Dolphins fans out there, but they prefer to remain anonymous.

By the way, what were your expectations -- record-wise -- of the Fish this year?

The expectations weren't very high, but for some reason the preseason got my hopes up a little. I know that is stupid. Not playoffs or anything, but was thinking they could win around 5 or 6 games.
Really thought they had a good shot a beating the Jets last week. Technically they did, but the Jets were clearly the better team.

As long as they are competitve in the games, I think that would be a step in the right direction. Two years of solid drafts (e.g., no Ted Ginns in the first round) and a couple of free agents should put them in contention in no time because of the parity in the league.

After Week 1, it looks like the Dolphins are better than the Raiders, Lions, and Bengals. Smile

Come on. We didn't just get Ginn, we got his whole family. Big Grin

Seriously though, I agree. Just frustrating. For some reason, I think we might have a chance against Arizona this week. If the defense can keep pressure on Warner, he will make stupid mistakes. Our secondary is uber weak though. I didn't think they looked amazing against the San Francisco either. We'll see. Could be another long afternoon.

I lived in South Florida for 9 years and never did become a 'fins fan, but I did learn to dislike the Jets....or should I say Jets fans!! Big Grin

Maybe because they become Mets fans in baseball season!

Of course I grew up a Buc...and remain a Buc!

GO BUCS!!! (despite our 0-1 start)

Miami should be able to pull out a win against AZ.

They should think the way the Pats do, one week at a time. Pats, even w/out Brady, are still a great team b/c everyone does their job and some step up more when others are hurt.

Miami should improve as the year goes along, BARRING INJURIES...

Agreed. Already lost Donald Thomas for the year. He is a special talent. Signed in the 6th Round and he earned a starting spot on the OL. Is it just me or have the injuries just been out of control so far? Off the top of my head, I can think of

Tom Brady
Marques Colston
Ben Roethlisberger (team says he is okay, but you know how that goes - he didn't practice yesterday)
Nate Burleson
Shawne Merriman
Osi Umenyiora
Donald Thomas
Dallas Clark (didn't practice yesterday after leaving the Chicago game with a knee injury)

Pretty crazy - it's still very early.

Big Grin

forgot about him as well as Alex Smith. I believe Jeff Saturday is out too. I am sure there are others. Makes me wonder what Week 2 holds. Almost all of these are knee injuries too.

The Bears were picked last in the NFC north this season by alot of people and the Vikings picked to push the Packers for the division. Brad Childress is a terrible coach and a bad judge of talent so I think we will be lucky to win seven games. Red Face

I think its a bit early in the season to be bemoaning the Vikings (or the Colts/Jags/Chargers). The Browns on the other hand...

The Addai TD call could have easily gone either way, replays were inconclusive and the announcers said the same. Indy doesn't look good though.

What the hell happened to Carson Palmer? It is like his skill set vanished overnight.

3 int's, 1 fumble, 0 td's, so far, along with a horrible completion %.

Whoever picked the Bears last must have forgot that Detroit still had an NFL team. It is an easy mistake to make, though. Since the Vikings play the Lions twice, they only have 5 more wins to get 7.

As for you "poor" Raiders and Dolphins fans, you have absolutely nothing on us lowly Lions fans. How many playoff games have your teams won in the last 40 years???? My Lions have won 1. But they were 4-0 this pre-season!!!
