Why all the McNabb hate Icewino and DVDad? He's gone to five pro bowls, lead his team to a Superbowl, and according to Wikipedia, is the LEAST intercepted quarterback per pass attempt in NFL history. Also, holds the record for most consecutive completions at 24. And, confused about the dropping the ball before the goalline thing Icewino. I think you're referring to DeSean Jackson, not McNabb. No, McNabb isn't quite Brady or Peyton, or Favre, but I consider him elite, and easily in the company of Big Ben or Romo, or Eli.

He looked like an elite QB to me last night. Let's not forget that his top two WRs are out with injuries. I thought he did a great job of sensing the pocket collapsing around him; he escaped certain sacks on several occasions. I think that he is set to have a very big year, if he can stay healthy.

Why do they have the very bright Steve Young interacting with a dimwit like Emmitt Smith in the first place?! Being as articulate as Steve must make it tough to be paired with a guy who can barely utter two words without stumbling all over them.
I agree. I look at Steve Young sometimes and wonder what he is really thinking. Is Keyshawn still hosting? He has had to endure him, Michael Irving, and now Emmit. No offense to Cowboys fans intended. They could play football, but their commentary is just brutal.

You have to win big games to be elite and McNabb is far from elite.
Just one more sip.

Keeno, Never provide commentary with Irving and Emmitt Smith in the same sentence. One is a crack smoking criminal and the other a true professional. I'd listen to Emmitt any day since his brain wasn't ever fried from illicit drugs. Then, again, what do you expect from someone from the U And yes...Emmitt knows his stuff, while Irving is much like Shannon Sharpe that's all talk, talk, talk, and are mumblin, bumblin, fools

He has won an NFC Championship, which I would consider a big game. Right now, I would put him in the top four QBs in the NFL.

Oh, I think he's talented, but he's lost too many games they should have won. Same thing for Romo to this point in his career.
Just one more sip.

It will be interesting to see how potent the offense will be once he has his full complement of receivers. Romo has much riding on this season. If Dallas does not win a playoff game...

Stillerz are 2-0!!! I got to see the game while in Chicago. I am looking forward to the Eagles game. I am not sure what to think of the Eagles. While Romo looks like a QB on his way to greatness, he gave up some costly plays that kept the Eagles in the game. The Cowboys have a weak defense, McNabb is gonna be in for some pain when he faces the Steel Curtain.

You have a valid point. I just don't think he does the best job articulating his views. However, putting him on the same level as Irving and Keyshawn isn't fair. I agree with you on Sharpe. That guy kills me.

I don't dislike him at all, in fact he seems like one of the better role models in the NFL as a person. I just don't think he's "elite" so to speak. He has had great recievers that can bring in some of his wild throws and if the story TO puts out there about him hyperventillating in the last minutes of the superbowl are true the prosecution rests, but who knows how true that is. I do have the wrong guy, the highlights I saw confused me. I was actually watching the Sox/Rays and just saw it flipping back and forth and for some reason thought I heard McNabb's name during the replay of the drop.

Indy - I think the same thing about McNabb as Icewino does. I wouldn't call it "hating". He is good. Very good. Just not elite....

My own personal definition would be someone who wins big games but also wins consistently. Thus in my humble opinion the only 2 current "elite" QBs are Brady and Manning Sr., though if Manning Jr. can get the Giants into the playoffs again and win a game or 2 I don't see how you could not include him in this group also. For that reason I would not call McNabb or Romo elite either.

So can we throw Brad Johnson in?

Not anymore, but you can make a case for his career as a whole. (when I said Brady and Manning I meant who I'd currently consider "elite", obviously there are plenty of other guys in years past.

I understand why you chose who you did. I mentioned Johnson as he was fairly recent to remind everyone that you can win the big games but still never be considered an elite quarterback. Naturally Johnson is much better than Trent Dilfer, but you get my point.

How about Favre? Elite or not? Definately elite ten years ago, but how about now?

Hey, this is an NFL thread, not small-time college football.
