duh duh duh duhhhhhhh...

its that time of the year (GO HAWKS! PECK YOUR EYES OUT!)... im looking forward to this season, a little more then the last 2, dont have to cringe everytime Shaun runs into the line now (funny how no one picked him up, not even a wimper in the news after being released)...

pretty tough schedule this year out of the division, some of the tougher games:

@ NYG
vs GB
@ TB
vs Philly
vs Skins
@ Dallas (Hawks on Turkey Day, must have been a good boy last year!)
vs Pats

while theres alot of potential, easily could be another 9-7 season and win the NFC West again, just depends on the offense again as the defense will just be that much better as the young guys (Tatupu, Hill, Mebane) grow and the new guys (Peterson, Kerney, Grant, Russell) get more comfortable with some est vets like Trufant... and will be interesting to see how the running game is with J Jones, Duckett, Mo Morris & Weaver and Wahle as the new LG, and Solari (from KC) as the new line coach... word out of camp is he's being much more physical with the hogs up front, should be a noted improvement! Hasselbeck should be his understated self, though the WR's are banged up once again (will Branch ever live up to that contract) and some young, inexperienced guys (Taylor, Obomanu, Payne, Kent, etc...) gonna compete for that 4th spot with Branch, Engram & Burelson...

oh well, cant wait, lots of questions to be answered!

let the games begin!

Great call, kuma!

I can hardly contain myself and it's driving Mrs. BRR crazy. I'm really optimistic for the '08-'09 Hawks. It seems like the core has been maintained, in large part, and the areas that needed improving (runningbacks, O-line) have been hopefully improved. The only really big question mark in my mind is the receiver corps. It should be fun to see how some of the young guys, like you said, make their case for a starting position. I'm predicting only 3 regular season losses.

Cheers!

Oh, and how about you make a trip up to Seattle for a game and we turn it into an offline? Cool

Cheers!

The CHIEFS won. WooHoo!

Hey, I'll take what I can get at this point. A real cause for celebration would be the announced firing of Herm Edwards and Carl Peterson.

Let the fun begin!

Pssst, Ozarks, sarcasm noted, but the preseason is absolutely meaningless, except for injuring starters.

Once again the Hawks should have no problem winning arguably the weakest division in football. I'm excited to see if Julius Jones can hit the ground running (pun intended), my concern would probably be the lack of depth on the receiving core. But my true love is the Chargers, so here's hoping they can finally live up to their talent and go all the way.

agree Dunder, but my biggest concern is the O-Line depth, esp with Gray gone now... we'll see!

Agreed, and while he stil has a year left on his contract in my humble opinion it really is time for Spencer to live up to his first round pedigree.

That would be me, I'm still here. Want to get me going already? Alright, anyone want to bet my team finishes with a better record than your team, say for a nice bottle of wine? I could use more wine like the bottle I'll be collecting from Wizzy at the end of the MLB season. You need not include a cheap ugly suit either Big Grin

Umm, err, I'm a Dolphins fan.

The good news is, we just picked up Chad Pennington!

Alot of injuries in the vikings camp. We just lost a starting safety Williams we just signed to a 33 million dollar contract. And our two backup defensive ends both blew out their acl and are out for the season. And with Tavaras Jackson at quarterback who knows with him. We start at green bay then have the colts at home and then the panthers so we could be 0-3 real quick. Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor at running back will be our hope to carry the team. Hopefully Aaron Rodgers for the packers will struggle as the new quarterback.
