I have been hot and cold on SNL since Will Ferrell left, but this season has been a little better. Favorite skit of all time has to be “More Cowbell” with Ferrell and Walken. Classic!!

Glad to see Tina Fey back playing you know who. She nailed it again this weekend Click

Agreed on both counts. Tina Fey is easily as good at Palin as Dana Carvey was at Bush, Sr. - it's uncanny.

I've watched the show since it started. The original cast years and the Chris Farley/Phil Hartman years were outstanding. Other than that it's been a disappointment. The current writing and cast is almost at the depths of the Joe Piscopo/Billy Crystal years.

Just one more sip.

These days, I tune in for the Fey/Palin act, wait for the monologue then turn off the tube.

I believe that Phil Hartman was the single-most talented cast member ever to work on SNL. I still mourn his death to this day. What a tragic loss. Frown

Here: (sorry, the thing isn't letting me post links for some reason) http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/video/clips/vp-d...-palin-biden/727421/ is a slightly larger versionof the same thing.

The single funniest political sketch since 1992 with Dana Carvey playing both Bush Sr. and Perot. Maybe the single funniest sketch since then. Tina Fey has been eating her Wheaties....

Never been a huge SNL fan. There's not much TV comedy that makes me laugh out loud. But that sketch cracked me up. Brilliantly observed and hilarious.

SNL always livens up during campaign season. If I'm up, I'll watch the first half hour. After that, the sketches go downhill rapidly.

You really think it's better than this:

Classic. I love Norm MacDonald's Weekend Updates and Burt Reynolds in the Jeopardy skits.

You'll notice that link is to the first Matt Foley skit. There was no laughter when the name "Matt Foley" was mentioned.

Just one more sip.

So tell us, Board-O, who could do a better parody of you? Chris Farley, or Jim Carrey?

I have not liked SNL since 8th grade. I still remember talking about the Nat X skits and why black people don't play hockey. Not to say there has not been a good skit here and there, but the bad material outweighs the good material to teh point where I just can't watch.

C'mon Board-O? Should we imagine you as Chris Farley? "I keep my wines in a temperature and humidity controlled VAN, down by the RIVER?"

or Dan Akroyd, "DRAB you ignorant slut. You're opening that way too early."

or Church Lady, "Well, he had a 25 year old Beaucastel with dinner. Isn't that special?"

I agree. It was good in the beginning and up until Dana Carvey and some others left, it started to really suck. I switched to MadTV which I found much funnier and more original.

I thought MADTV was kind of juvemnile except when Nicole Sullivan was on. Her Cooking Valentine's Day Dinner for One skit is one of the funniest bits I've ever seen. I tried to find a video of it online but couldn't. The Vancome Lady is a another great character of hers.

Just one more sip.

The best things to come out of MAD-TV, were their sendups of the Rankin/Bass Rudolf Christmas specials. Check UTube.
