I think the idea is that they don't really comprehend the pressure they're under, unlike the older girls, and that is a psychological advantage.

Anybody else catch the youtube video of the Cuban Taekwondo guy kicking the referee in the chops? Wow.

Congrats U.S., I didn't think the We're-better-this-time Team would win a gold, I really didn't. Nice job fellas!

Is this interminable posturing boring event over yet? Thank goodness it's only every four years that it clutters up our news.
Just one more sip.

Usain Bolt has been catching a lot of flack about his early victory celebration in the men's 100 meter final. It really wasn't that big of a deal. Here is a video of the race for those that haven't seen it.

Behind Phelps, IMO. But, Bolt is just amazing, a once in a generation talent. I wonder how he would do if he took up the long jump? Maybe 30 feet is possible?

I just wondered what would've happened if he didn't let up in the 100 like he did. Even though he smoked the rest of the sprinters, he visibly let up on his pace. During the 200 he was pushing the the very end. I bet he might've been able to hit 9.60 if he hadn't eased up. Jamaica has some skills in the sprinting dept.

I know! I probably would have done the same thing. Tthe water cooler talk I've heard splits people: Go hard for 100 meters and destroy the WR, or Go hard for 90 minutes, celebrate for 10 meters, and break the WR. He'll have plenty of other chances to destroy the WR, but the world's biggest stage happens once every four years.
