Here is to hoping that perennial 40+ goal scorer Dany Heatly likes playing with Joe Thornton.

Here's hoping that the Hawks can stay close until Hossa comes back from his injury. There should be plenty of firepower until then, but you never know.

Here's hoping that Marty Turco remembers how to stop a puck. Mad

I'm looking forward to see the Hawks improve themselves this year. They're a very exciting bunch.

Well Phil Kessel got his wish. That's a lot of offense to replace next year. A possible budding young superstar on a really good team and he's dying to leave town. Am I missing something?

Yup, as always Vancouver fans are optimistic about our chances this year (not that this has ever lead to much).

My wild actually picked up some good free agents this year and goaltending should be solid. I'm hoping for a good year.

What are they Sharks going to do when they don't win it this year? Acquire the western All-star team?

I think the better question is, "What will they do when they win it this year?" Wink

Crapper in LA. Yuck.

I don't know if anybody visits the "Hockey Fights" web site, but it seems to have been upgraded from last year. Here is a link:

Amen. Aside from the 3rd period of the 1st game, they've been looking horrible.

Bruins are looking pretty lousy so far this year. Hopefully they just need time to gel but if Thomas doesn't get his ass in gear soon they're going to look pretty stupid giving someone of his age the huge contract they gave him with Rask waiting in the wings.

50 minutes of lousy Bruins hockey and 10 minutes plus a shootout of great stuff. Where's that energy and intensity fot the first 2 1/2 periods?

The Sharks hold on and beat a Wild team that outworked them. This was as good as Nabby has looked all year, but I am still worried about him.

One for the ages last night. Hawks were down 5-0 to Calgary after only about 12 minutes in the first. They came back to win 6-5 in OT. That's without Hossa.

Now if they could get even average goal tending.

Why can't the Sharks have a decent start to a game? They are routinely getting outplayed and outscored in at least the first ten minutes of the game, and generally the whole first period. At least they are coming back.

Don't hold your breath on Hossa. He was not much help to the Redwings last year. Although he scored some points, they were rarely in critical situations, and he was essentially non-existent in the playoffs.

Meanwhile, my Wings look like they're in something of a rebuilding phase. Hopefully they can keep their older stars healthy, and the younger talent can fill in the gaps well enough.

And goal tending is a question mark again..
