Not a big fan of rap, but some have a good vibe. You need good speakers to appreciate it, and you may enjoy it better without the video.

Anyway, enjoyed this out on the boat today.

Not a big fan of rap music myself, but this is a good example of what kids today would probably consider old school hip hop. I consider this to be the fun side of hip hop before the madness. “Summertime” by Will Smith has been a summertime anthem since the early 90's. This song came out in 91' when I was a freshman in high school and brings back memories. I lived in New Jersey at the time and the music video was filmed in Philly. I heard this song for the first time this summer a couple of days ago, and thought summertime is here.... Glad you enjoyed it!!!

OMG, you all are old. Even garnetkw has seveal years on me... ha ha...

I'm not a big fan of rap either, but there is *some* excellent stuff out there. If you want really good hip hop look to The Roots. The Seed is a modern classic and I was just listening to it as I opened this thread.

I'll admit I've got an eclectic taste in music, but if its got a good vibe, I like it no matter what style. My tastes are much the same with friends, food, art, wine and entertainment. It's all about evoking a wide range of emotions.

I like The Roots. I also like A Tribe Called Quest (Old School)

Don't worry, I'm down with the Summertime Miami & Garnet. Good stuff. I listen to less hip hop than I used to, but recently ituned KRS-One's "Life" album. Good hip hop is still being made, you just have to look damn hard for it.
