Felt we needed a thread to keep track of the draft date and various updates, as well as what wine we are offering up this time.

Nice ... we were wondering where you've been. Thanks for starting the thread. We're waiting for Team Wigglyscott to create his team.

So the draft date options are: Tue, Sep 1 or Thu, Sep 3 at 8:30 pm EST.

As to which wine to pony up, I'm leaning towards a 2001 Siro Pacenti Brunello. That's confidence baby.

Yes, please let me know what I will be drinking this winter/spring.
I'm leaning towards putting up an 05 JJ Prum Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese.

Wow DD is really stepping it up. I may have to reconsider my offering even though the Prum is a knock out.

I can't let D do me like that.
I'm putting up an
2005 Domaine Pierre Usseglio & Fils Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée de mon Aïeul

and I'll leave the Prum on the table as an alternate if someone prefers that since the Aieul won't be ready for a long time. It will be worth the wait though.

I don't want to be too cocky this year, it really is all about managing expecataions. My goal is simply to finish one position higher this year, that doesn't seem like too much to ask. Big Grin

I have no idea what those wines are, but am I to guess Silver Oak is not cutting it this year?

We need to figure the draft date, the previously proposed date will not work for me. Moving it up a week would though.

As of right now I have no draft day conflicts a week on either side of the original dates.

Which days can work for you for the week of 8/24? I will be in CA that week, but I can plan my time accordingly if needed.

Anything during that week will work.

Just checked your guys wines, you are bringing some serious stuff.

Think 2006 Caymus will cut it or do I need to step it up?

Hehehe ... it's all about confidence that you are gonna finish in the juice and not give up your wine. Wink 2006 Caymus would go nicely in my basement next to the Silver Oak. Cool

About the draft date, I can't do Aug 24 (Mon) or Aug 25 (Tue). I'll still be in Carmel/Big Sur on Monday and will be driving up to Napa on Tuesday.

So hopefully, we can do either Wed, Thu, or Fri of that week. Let me know if you have a conflict with these days. Let's keep the start time at 8:30 pm EST.

Aug 26, 27 or 28 works for me.

How does a 2003 Ch Talbot sound? Or if y'all prefer a 2006 Merry Edwards Meredith Estate pinot noir? If those don't cut it I'm sure I can come up with something else as well.

Talbot sounds better to me but I'm not a big Pinot fan.

Wed, Thu, or Fri are fine for me.

I think I can do better. Maybe an '03 Beaucastel?

Are you referring to the 2003 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Hommage à Jacques Perrin? That's mighty generous of you and perhaps very confident of the season. Wink
